Kinja'd!!!

I know I already have the ultimate E9X, but I’m really enjoying driving this. It’s put a massive smile on my face. I guess after 2.5 years of owning the M3, it had become normal. I still enjoy driving it, but I guess the special feeling I got when I drove it kind of went away. I think this is going to make me enjoy it more. Speaking of the M3, there will be an E92 vs E90 comparison at some point, probably a month or two into owner ship; I’m going to nerd out on all the difference and not just in power, but in things like outlet placement, yeah that level of BMW nerd.

I can also tell I really like it because I’m actually driving it. The day I got my 128i I went for a joyride, I came home parked the 128i and then took the M3 on a joyride.

So far the only problem with the car is the USB and Aux inputs in the center arm rest seem not to be working. I drove to BMW to see how much it would cost for them to look at it. I’m not paying $93 for them to just look at it when you can buy a new USB/Aux for less than that. I pulled the fuse and it seems to be fine and the socket next to it works. I solved the music problem by loading some onto a USB and then putting that into the USB port in the glovebox, so this problem might take me a little to address.

While I was at BMW, I saw this:

Thought it was worth sharing.

Edit:

Got the all important oppo sticker on.

The isetta is so great. I hope to own one some day, the problem is restored ones are incredibly expensive and the non-restored ones are piles of rust and broken parts. I think it would be perfect for my 3-mile drive to work with no speed limits over 35.

Its great you’re enjoying it. I am so sad at the unbelievably limited amount of manual BMWs in my country.

Whoa if it’s even worse than USA (unless you are in USA) that’s bad...

Having 2 cars definitely helps you appreciate the better one. Allow me to explain.... I have 2 friends that get a different vehicle every single year. They get bored driving the same vehicle everyday I think, and searching for that next car is a disease. They lose their ass everytime the trade/sell a car. That equates to thousands a year. I try to explain they need a beater, or a daily. One of them got a mint E63 AMG recently, a real gem. In the first 60 days it’s acquired a broken windsheild, and a 2ft scratch across the hood. If they didn’t drive them everywhere, park them at the airport, etc. They would feel more special the couple days a week they would get driven, and I bet they’d stay in better condition.

Yeah, I basically went on a unicorn hunt to find this. I wish people still bought Manila BMWs, I would have thought about buying new if there was a new BMW I wanted.

OMG there are so many cool places in driving distance down there and not that much traffic. Off I-95, anyway... *envy*

Careful brah! Sometimes it’s not the prettiest girl that ends up stealing your heart lol

I’m surprised Arnold’s Black edition wasn’t in the showroom. I’m glad to see Critz hasn’t changed their prices too much.

Yeah, I completely agree with all of that. My M3 felt even more special after driving my explorer or my 128i. I’d get out of the 128i, and into the M3 and think everything is just 5% better, but it makes the car much better than that.

This is one reason I got another BMW. I got something that I will enjoy driving and will make my M3 feel special. The manual in the coupe also helps because at no time was I ever tempted to take the 128i over the M3, unless it was to work. Now I might have a debate in my head.

One of my neighbors has your same philosophy. You need a DD and a toy. Otherwise, like you said, your nice car gets damaged and gets driven to the airport. Also if you get bored of cars that fast, you could get a cheap second car and then when you get bored with that you sell it and don’t loose your ass on it.

Traffic is nothing compared to ATL, my sister was Pooler is bad at rush hour and I was like your idea and my idea of traffic are two separate things.

The M3 will always be the one, this is great don’t get me wrong, but the M3 is just that little bit better. I will say I love the wheels on the 3 and I think it looks pretty great as well.

Nothing like a robust NA inline six from BMW. I love your spec and think it only is missing red interior.

Currently I am hunting the perfect 335i E90 LCI M sport.

I would have loved a red interior, actually a red interior with a blue water metallic exterior would have been perfect. However, this car is rare enough, I probably would have never found one of those.

Good luck finding a manual M-Sport LCI E90 335i, unless you want an auto. Personally I’d go for a 335is and call it a day, but then again I already have an E90. I wanted the 328i because it’s an N/A engine and I didn’t want two out of warranty BMWs.

It would have to be an auto. There were only manual 325i s that came here and well, about 3 people bought those nationwide.

And yeah, you would’ve had to wait for a loooong time until that configuration came up. I came to the realization that a manual is close to impossible, and if an auto with low mileage and red seats comes by I will seriously consider it.

That sucks nobody bought manuals. I also feel like it could be that people are holding on to the E9Xs with sticks. I was talking to the dealer here in Savannah and they’re like yeah, people aren’t trading them in anymore.

I could only find this one, and as of last time I looked, I couldn’t find another E92 M-Sport 328i with a 6MT for sale anywhere in the US.

Ah, I see what you mean now. I thought you were referring to the prices on the cars they have. I need to find a good third party shop to take mine E9Xs to, the place I took the M3 to told me to give them a call and they’d help me find a good shop. I think I’m gonna put about 5k on the 328i and then have all the fluids changed since it’s got 40k on it and the gearbox and diff oils are supposed to be changed at 45k.

I’d recommend Sonic at Sonic Motorsport, Ethan at Valiants Racing for that type of work, or Nish at Shortstop Garage. Sonic and Ethan both have Motul and are distributors. Just tell them that Afroman with the GTO told you to come. They’ll take care of you.
