...and for some reason I cannot fathom, this is in the front of the showroom.

Kinja'd!!!

Also, true to car dealer lots everywhere, all handicap spots are filled or blocked.

Just rode in the red F-type. The green one has disappeared.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on it? How much would it cost to convert one to hand controls?

And of course every car in a handicap spot had dealer plates in it right?

Is the police car from dukes of Hazzard or something?

I’m thinking. It’s a returned lease with 35k on it. In great shape. It would cost about $600 to move my controls over, prolly a couple thou for new ones. I’ll probably recycle.

One was a customer. The others dealer. Of course.

You got it. Dukes of Hazard.

Figures on the parking.

Car seems out of place at a jaguar dealer but I kinda like it.

It’s a universal constant.

I misrepresented the dealer. They’re not a Jaguar dealer. They are a used luxury dealer. Most are BMWs. I’m sitting next to a row of S classes, too.

Yeah, car salespeople and porters get into the bad habit of leaving cars absolutely anywhere. It’s as if their brains shut down while parking. You would think that would be the one place that’s a no no, but nah.

I used to get butt hurt, but now I just politely let them know and then get to business.

Hopefully word gets back to the GM when you do. That’s the person who can fix it.

Nice looking car btw — hope it works out!

I don’t understand people parking in handicap spots. I was an auto parts driver for almost three years, and fully embraced the habit of throwing on the hazards and stopping wherever I needed to in order to deliver parts, but I never took handicap spots.

The only thing can imagine is that they think that it’s unlikely anyone will show to use them while they put the car there “temporarily”. It’s like when people say, “I was just running in” while I show up. Or maybe they just don’t think we have money to spend? That was true in generations past, but not anymore.

It must be that, I mean I don’t think any of them are consciously going “screw handicapped people in particular”, but their actions still have that effect. At the grocery store I go to, there’s a long ramp that has parking spots along it, and every time I go, there’s at least one truck or van with their rear wheels up against the curb of the ramp, with the overhang blocking any wheelchairs or strollers from going by. It drives me crazy.

The lot adjacent to the studio my kids dance at has two handicap spots and a van ramp. 9 times out of 10 when I pick them up/drop them off there’s a “Dance Mom” parked in one of the spots or in the van ramp waiting for her kid... and the rest of the lot is mostly empty.

Some nights TWO of the lazy ladies get the same idea.

They just aren’t thinking outside their busy day. Most of the time, when confronted with the result, they have the good grace to be embarrassed and apologetic. Only once in a while do I encounter a real asshole.
