Great, now we’re going to have “Drone Parks” full of people obsessively treating their drones better than people and putting “My Drone is Smarter than Your Honor Student” and little silhouttes of drones on bumper stickers that say stuff like “DJI Phantom Mom” on them. Then Sarah McLachlan will sing some melodramatic song about all the Walmart drones that kids got for Christmas and left out in the rain. It always gets out of hand.

It is, but unlike a model plan it will return to it’s owner if it flys out of signal range and the FPV option is pretty damn cool.

I like the FPV option, only my experience is that you don’t get enough range to make it really amazing in terms of that feeling of flying. If you are away from a city and up on a hill you’ll get 2-5 miles at best. Still cool though, but it takes away some of the benefit of having a fast drone.
