I recall reading several accounts saying that Moore actually struggled with this particular scene, and argued with the director over it. Because this particular moment, his opponent was helpless and completely at his mercy, Bond’s kicking the car was completely cold-blooded and particularly cruel...and ol’ Rog didn’t want to do it.

I always found the anecdote curious, because in TSWLM, Bond drops a guy from a rooftop that he could easily have saved, and there was never an anecdote about Moore struggling with that scene.

Additional fun fact: you almost never see Moore firing an actual shot because in most of the takes, he flinches when the gun goes off. If they lucked out and he managed to fire the blank without flinching, then they used it. Moore had a pistol backfire on him when he was in the service, and tended to flinch whenever pulling a trigger as a result. I suppose nowadays, they’d load the gun with nothing and then CGI the muzzle flash.

Moore was an exceedingly poor James Bond. Pathetic, even. Wretched.

You can see the chains restraining the car when it slides through the wall.
