I was behind a suburban on the highway the other day with snow on the roof like this. Crusty snow, too. I was following waaaay behind while passing a slow car in the right lane, and some eager beaver comes up on my tail, gets impatient and goes around me on the right. I’m like, “go right ahead, genius” and sure enough, he tailgates the ‘burban and soon sheets of icy crust come flying off the truck, causing “genius” to slam on his brakes, at which point I was already in the right lane because obviously this was going to happen. Come on, people.

On a related note, if someone has ice and/or snow on my roof and wishes to change lanes or merge, I will do everything in my power to block them. I call this the “lazy asshole tax” and drivers must pay this tax for being lazy assholes.

OH! I almost forgot. Last year we had a nice heavy wet snowstorm and of course, lazy assholes are the same everywhere, so this happened: In the town where I work the main street goes up a big hill and there’s parallel parking on the side - but only really on the side where your car will be facing downhill. So one particular lazy asshole really got his commupance when the snow all slid off the roof during the warm part of the day onto the windshield. Probably 6" deep initially, all slumped down from just on the hood back up to the roof. Then it got cold, really cold. By 5:00 it was a complete block of ice, still 3-4" thick. The rest of the car was completely clear from daytime melting. LOL
