Now that Toyota is introducing Gazoo through GRMN branded cars, how would you like Toyota to distinguish between the GRMN and TRD products? Could they ever exist within the same model line?

One way I could see to do it is to position TRD as the American performance brand, and GRMN as the worldwide performance brand.

Think of something like how Ford had their American performance lineup under brands like SVO, and their European performance lineup under brands like RS.

Effectively, if the goal is performance in a straight line, an oval, or off-road, it’s a TRD. If the goal is performance in corners, it’s GRMN.

So, the hot Yaris and a hot 86? Those would be GRMN.

A hot Camry or Tacoma? TRD.

Maybe some internal competition would point out what TRD has been doing wrong with their mostly irrelevant parts and cheesy tricks for like 17 years.

They really should come up with a much better Toyota performance brand to maybe drop TRD(turd) and GRMN( wazoo racing) under that aren’t the butt of some jokes.

Also, I’ve been in a single turbo 2JZ Cressida (MX73 sedan) just south of 500hp and on stock~ish suspension. Sorta scary to say the least, somehow in a good way for a street cruiser that breaks traction at highway speed.. (also, did not contain any TRD parts)
