From January 1992, importable in the US. It has had a very shitty black respray done to it and we have a good two weeks of work to stop a rust hemoragy of the floor pan on the passenger side.
Otherwise, the body is very straight and looks good, same for the interior that is nice and all... Mechanically, you can hammer on it, it’s solid. Just this paint and the rust on the passenger side’s floor.
Now the good thing. It would be cheap as fuck. $5500 landed in any port in North America or Europe. And most of all, it’s the ideal candidate if someone want to do a trackday car or autocross car... Once repaired and ready to roll, I will do my usual ton of pictures to go with the car and I will do an extensive filmed test drive of it on Mount Rokko for you guys that will definitely test the car’s mechanical strength.
But it’s a great opportunity for someone who wants to buy a Cappuccino for damn cheap, either to work on or to convert into a racecar.
I’m just posting here to see if there are some interest :)
And the state of the floor pan on the passenger side... Yep, we have some work :)
So, shitty paint, currently crappy floor panel that will be worked on. But a car that is becoming more and more expensive, much rarer than Honda Beat, much faster too and for a price that is really fairly low and that will be in a good mechanical condition to be beaten onto. NP or CP?

Nah, we cannot take care of that from Japan :)
For a keicar, there is roughly an extra 7 to 800$ in port fees and import taxes to get it registered and all...
As for AZ-1, canadians are pretty much piling them up to resale them to you guys when they become US legal. Good luck finding one for less than 12k$ in 2018 :(

NP all day with the floor properly repaired. Better to have a car with a crummy paint job you can drive, than a show car you feel guilty about uncovering.

I find it funny how we banned foreign cars so not too much money leaves the US, but in turn, after 25 years, even more money leaves the US thanks to the inflated prices of the cars that were once banned but now legal. It may not be the real reason for the 25 year rule (I doubt anyone knows it’s purpose at this point) but it’s still an interesting thing to think about.

The 25 year law was instored thanks to Mercedes USA who was tired of seeing americans have their brand new Mercs shipped from Germany for a lot cheaper than how much they were in the US. Nothing else, just lobbying is the reason behind this stupid law.

I guess that brings us right back around to money leaving the US was a nono back then. I will admit I make way to many jokes about this law because of how stupid it is, most of said jokes go along the lines of “pff the japs don’t deserve our money” “US is best get that foreign crap out of here!” “Who needs european econoboxes when you have AMERICAN MUSCLE HELL YEAH”
I don’t really mean these things but givin the time period the law was passed, it’s only appropriate. Jokes or not, this law needs to go.

That’s a Nice Price all the way, but it’s more the lack of space that worries me. I could imagine buying one, driving it a few months, selling it, and starting over, as I used to do with cars from Germany actually. Could be a good deal for both I think :)

Just the idea of buying a car sight un seen, seems bad to me. Japanese Classics had nice one that you could go look at, but it sold real quick. JDM expo has a nice one, but it also has loose wires in the engine bay and has been for sale for months. Like going on half a year, thats not a good sign. And its in Japan so I can’t get it looked at by a mechanic like I would if it was for sale down the road.
I want a Soarer but don’t know if it worth the risk.

JDM-Expo is near where I live... I know the owner well. If you’re really interested, I can test drive the car for you and film while doing it. I’ll have to go there next week for.... a project. More on that later, but while I’m there I can test drive the Soarer for you if you want.
They are serious though... They won’t sell you a crapcan for sure.

I rode in one, once, as a passenger, in college (in Aus). and it was COZY!
it’s barely enough car for one person, let alone even taking a friend out to lunch :D
either way, good luck wiht the sale. I can testify to it being a fun little car, and should make for a fun toy for whoever has the space for it.
