What I say

Kinja'd!!!

What I think

Kinja'd!!!

It’s the little things that get you through the day. To be clear, I did not recommend this car be repaired, and fortunately it wasn’t.

Until one day when you accidentally print the second one and they get a free repair

My boss started putting a word of the day on the prep list board. Today in was “gaping dick hole”. We are very mature where I work.

Nah, I sometimes just type the first sentence that comes to mind then immediately delete it in my first draft of a report. It’s mildly therapeutic. A lot of my clients would just laugh if I somehow let this go all the way to an invoice. And I strongly advised against fixing this car, in any case.

Honestly I prefer the first. It really makes it much more clear how truly fucked they are. Though it would be nice if there were a sign of an obvious quick lube fuck up so you could fix the car, and the customer could send the bill to the oil change place.

All I know of restaurant work culture comes from the movie Waiting, so that would fit I think.

That movie is a stretch, but still accurate.

When I was in HS I worked at an old school lumberyard where we would pull the lumber for the customer, punch up the invoice and send it directly to the cashier. (The customer would not see the sheet I wrote up.) I had one guy that came out to the yard and made a smallish order a living hell. Any “defects” were dismissed and we dug through several bunks to fill the order with “perfect” boards.

In the line items I punched in

1....Bite my ass....$0.01

Turned out that corporate got a cc of every invoice sent to the register. Which led to a fun conversation with the store manager.

I work for a newspaper. One day a buddy of mine was mocking up the front page with placeholder headlines and text. He basically put “Well, fuck. Nobody knows what’s going on here.”

Sadly, that really was the actual gist of the real story. Too bad we couldn’t actually print it that way. Heh.

Worked at a salvage yard years ago, we shared our inventory listings with a few neighboring yards, so we could just quote sales off of each others inventories. Looking for Bonneville pieces, so I checked to see if anyone had an entire front end cut, and found one with the following description:

“Needs bumper and cooling (fucked up by forklift)“

No way, those turbo 1.6s are shit. I don’t trust new ones, let alone used ones. And the one that died was a used unit, replaced less than a year ago!

That was a sarcastic “Go used engine” hence the ...

I like how they look exterior wise. I hate the interior and the tiny motor.

Ah, got it :) Yeah, they look fine, and I admit they’re fun to drive, but the second gen new Mini is a POS. The first supercharged ones are kind of cool, and have decent longevity. Then BMW fucked it up, as they have everything else.

Waste of a perfectly good oil change the previous day..

Kinja'd!!! "RallyWrench" (rndlitebmw)
03/16/2017 at 16:53, STARS: 0

It wasn’t a perfectly good oil change, they didn’t check the damn coolant! Awfully coincidental. Quick lube places, man.

Kinja'd!!! "philipilihp" (philiphilip)
03/16/2017 at 16:54, STARS: 0

Yeah true. They should’ve probably spotted something was up if it ended that catastrophically. Aren’t those quick lube places supposed to top up vital fluids and what-not?

Kinja'd!!! "RallyWrench" (rndlitebmw)
03/16/2017 at 16:59, STARS: 0

Supposed to, but that’s what happens when you have untrained eyes just changing oil. They do make a point about charging a buttload for fluid services though, so it’s surprising they didn’t upsell the guy.
