Own a Chevrolet Silverado AND simultaneously a pair of Volvo wipers? You’re in luck! Your cuate EL_ULY has the solution.

First, grab your Volvo S60 (05-10), V70/XC70 (05-07), S80 -390000 (04-06), XC90 05- wipers

On one side, everything is nice and flat.

Kinja'd!!!

On the other side, Volvo, after a recent part number change (they’re on to me), has now added a little piece of plastic to try and foil my plans.

Kinja'd!!!

Muah ha ha haaa! Silly Volvo, you can’t stop me!

At this point, find yourself a good file and get grinding, yo!

Kinja'd!!!

Boom! nice and straight.

Install your Volvo wipers on your Silverado and enjoy a nice clear windshield :]

If you trimmed that plastic bit with a 1000º knife, you’d get way more views. It’s all about that SEO, brah.

LOL I worked with a guy who would literally save every type of used cars’ wipers to find the perfect fit for his fleet of Hondas.

Meanwhile so long as everyone keeps using the ol’ fashioned hook style wipers, I can keep using my MOPAR blades on my Mazda.

Not to mention the Mazda blades on my Subaru and Camry...

And can someone tell me why the wiper cleans fine on the upstroke and leaves a streak right in the center of my vision on the downstroke? These are fairly new wipers, but because it’s a 24" on one side and 16" on the other (stupid, annoying...) I can’t just swap them.

I just buy the cheapest wipers I can, and replace them every 8-10 months. I never pay more than $10 for a pair of blades.

My S40 is coming up on wipers. A set of Volvo wipers goes for $44 off fcpeuro.com, are they really worth twice the cost over Bosch? Literally every part on the car I have replaced is Volvo so far, even if it comes stamped with FoMoCo lol.

I experimented with expensive wipers, and I just couldn’t tell the difference. I even tried a set of those solid beam Bosch wipers, which were both the most expensive and worst wipers I’ve ever had. Nothing beats a fresh set of wipers though!

indeed. What does a set from the dealer go for on your car?

lol yeah I hate when cars have different size wipers Wipers usually wear out more on the down stroke because it has more friction since the glass is more dry. Wet up, dry down.

Not going to lie, Volvo wipers are of exceptionally great quality. Not a sales pitch, I just know they are mega good.

No idea. I’ve never bought dealer wipers. Those Bosch wipers set me back like $50, and we’re worse than the y at old wipers they replaced. I once paid like $45 for a set of Trico exact fit wipers from Napa. They were great, but not discerably any better than the DuPont wipers I paid $6 for.
