Ordinarily I hate waiting a little.
But when they harass you with e-mails and text messages to say where it is and that it’s out for delivery and your slot is between 12:13-13:13.
It’s now 13:16UTC. I checked their tracker and the driver is on slot 37 and my slot is 65.
Yes, 65, sixty-five, vijfenzestig, fünfundsechzig, soixante-cinq, seasca a cúig, ...
28 MORE SLOTS.
What am I waiting for?

Turns out after trying to contact them, I’m getting,
‘We’re sorry but we haven’t been able to locate the delivery address from the information provided by the sender.’
I phoned them up to ask what on earth that means, turns out the sender didn’t put a house number on the parcel, just the street name and post/zip code. So I’ll have to wait till tomorrow to get my whiskey.

I’ve just had a home shopping delivery and the guy said he was running late. He arrived at 12:00 for a 12:00-13:00 window. Crazy.
The thing worse than a four hour window is the other day I day a, ‘your delivery is out with the driver and will be with you between 6:00-23:00. So somewhere between dawn and past dusk?
Oh and it arrived the next day at 10:20.

Jameson is where I started with Irish whiskey - I still enjoy it, but like Teeling as well as a few others — though I’ve only had the blended.
I need to make a restocking trip, so I will have to be on the lookout for that single grain. Enjoy!

I started out with Bushmills, but Jameson is the more common one in pubs and Tullamore Dew the cheapest in our store.
The Teeling has put me off or rather spoilt me for the cheaper Bushmills while the Tullamore Dew and Jameson are still enjoyable.

The depot is three miles away but I can’t go to the depot to collect the parcel till it’s been at least one day late (WTF?).
It boils my piss the incompetence.
For the five days it’s been travelling, nobody has noticed no house number and flagged it or sorted it before now.
You’d of thought the driver on noticing that there was no house number would of phoned the depot to ask them to e-mail me for a house number and then worked it into the delivery or at the end of their deliveries as they were on their way back to the depot.

Right, their job though is to deliver your package. But that requires the package to be labeled correctly. I think having called and emailed for the house number would technically be more than the basis of their job. Or the worst thing they could say, “That isn’t in my job description.” I am with you they should have tried their hardest to deliver it, but I would never expect such a thing from any of them. Even the ones I talk to outside of work.

Ultimately it should of been labelled correctly. But if I hadn’t kept trying to phone and sending e-mails, would they of tried to contact me or just send the parcel back to sender?
I’ve always gave more in any job I’ve had, no matter what it was.
Maybe I’m expecting too much for people to go just that little bit further.
But after my other rant yesterday (or the day before). I keep getting these damned e-mails with surveys and questionnaires wanting to know how they did, from websites, delivery companies to how easy their website was to navigate.
So it lulls me into the sense they do give a crap.

Those emails are generated every time you do anything that they car track enough to send you and email.
I don’t think you are asking too much. I give way more at my job than I need to, while its burning me out, I at least know I am working. I am just saying most people don’t or rather won’t because they are not getting paid for that. That is all.

If you are drinking the wine, then I would suggest some sweet roasted carrots (basically carrots, butter, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper and roast them in the oven) and some garlic brussel sprouts cooked in a pan with the juices from the steak while it is off heat resting.
