Oil change and an MOA, tire rotation, air filter, rear diff service, brake shims to stop a squeal, and a new lower radiator hose.

I love seeing a clean car like that on a lift.

My dad put those on the last time it was in the shop. Seems like the tires are wearing better with a little less body roll.

I love that these still use fluid coupling fan clutches.

If you aren’t convinced it’s not just like your FJ80, it has a oil pan leak just like every other Toyota from this era.

ha! My leak is NOT at the oil pan! bwhaha.

Inevitably, when I make it out to my FZJ80 this afternoon, the pan will probably be leaking now... )=

I have a friend who put them on his 2000 Silverado and is very happy with them. He says it completely changed the ride quality and is much much better now.

Every FJ80 looks like the Exxon Valdez behind the engine.

Surprisingly, I’ve not had to add any oil until recently. Now it’s Valdezing all over the place.

The ride is still very nice though. Something about a 2 Ton car rides well

Once the oil makes its way into the gasket and degrades it, it all goes downhill right quick.

I wouldn’t know I had a 2 ton crown vic that rode like shit.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinda won’t let me post it the right way up even when I rotate it before uploading.

It had blown shocks, a broken seat, dangerous brakes, bald tires, a questionable transmission and a lot of bad history between me and me dad who said I could drive it and would maintain it for me while in college. He told me everything was fine even when I showed him the metal on metal pads and the tires. He wouldn’t drive it but he and my step mom told me it was in great condition and that nothing was wrong with it. I took it to belle tire and they said they didn’t want me to leave with the brakes in that condition and I got them to put that down on paper and they still didn’t believe me. So I started saving up seeing as how when I talked about fixing it they would talk about giving me the 95 F150 we had that wouldn’t start to commute an hour to school.

I then upgraded to my 2005 Corolla le. My first car I bought myself and it’s in my name and everything. I don’t need permission to fix it (unlike the Vic). If something is wrong I save up and fix it and there’s less drama and stress around it.

Steelies!

I’ve been really lucky car wise with my parents. Of course they own a shop but he doesn’t even like it when the brakes squeal or if the wipers are streaky. He takes are of it really well for me.
