In the Cookie Clux Clan, hmm.... who has the best car?
Welp for the most part, probably 80+% of us have work trucks of some sort. Most with some modifications per work (ladder rack, tool box, frames, etc.). Besides that, the typical old work horse W210/W163's with a dab of Accord/Camry.
My carcachas (jalopies) are pretty cool but I think out of all of us, my brother’s 2017 Mazda 6 Touring is max dopeness.

In terms of blood/in-laws? hmmm. My grandma was actually pretty on the ball, she had an yellow e30 convertible for a while, a 1933 plymouth and TJ wrangler, oh and a WJ grand cherokee with the I6 and QuadraDrive. She liked cars a lot and was always a speeding ticket or 2 away from loosing her license.

The rarest car in my Family would have to be my Father’s 2014 BMW 335i GT, although my 2011 535i Manual might be just as rare. Now for a cool factor, my nephew has a Plum Crazy colored Challenger R/T that is awesome for a High School kid.
Now if we are talking bout cars in my family that would be cool if they were kept to present times, my uncle had a low light Karman Ghia convertible with factory fog lights, My father had a 66 Sport Fury 383 4 barrel 4 speed.

I’d say probably my uncles XK-R. I say that begrudgingly because it’s a 2005 and just doesn’t have the same appeal as it used to. His daughter’s ex-husband has an E39 M5, if he were still in the fam, I’d say him because that is my favorite car.

Right now, it’s me. A Bluetec E-class and the fintail, not quite Zonda (but maybe closer than many cars).
Mom has a Camry. Brother had a Zoidberg Toyota pickup but it got wrecked, replaced it with an S-10 extended cab. Sister’s family fleet is somewhat oddball, Sonic and Tribeca. Aunts and uncles drive beigemobiles these days - all getting on in years.
In the past, some had more interesting cars, but this changes as people age. My parents had interesting cars in the past.

oh, I forgot, my Uncle has a pretty drool worthy FZJ80. Low miles, poverty pack (cloth seats, no sunroof, etc) with the supercharger, and all the overland toys.

My aunt has a mint SJ Grand Wagoneer. It was my cousin’s first car (her son) when he was 16. He died at age 22 in 1992 and she has kept it around as a memento, putting just a few miles on it every year.

My father in law has a really nice 1982 Mercedes 280CE manual. My brother in law has a 2013 Golf R. I like my ‘67 Cougar, and will like it more once I’m done building it. My sister has a 2015 V6 Mustang Convertible.
So, comparing current family fleets vs family fleets (I have 6 sisters/2 brothers), mine wins (Cougar, ‘15 Tacoma, ‘14 GC Overland). My brother-in-law probably second (‘13 Golf R, ‘14 GC Limited). The rest are all some form of Equinox/Traverse primary vehicle.

My wife’s uncle has various old Trans Ams, Camaros, an old ‘50s GMC cab over truck, and a ‘92 NSX. He definitely takes the cake. I’m probably second with my ‘66 GMC, custom ‘73 CL450, along with the Corvair, Abarth, and WRX I used to own. My dad has an M235i which is pretty fun.

Post coming soon actually. My dad was let go from his main source of work 8 months ago by some racist Trump loving a-hole that didn’t want Mexicans working for his company. Ever since then, the company is at the point of shutting down for not being able to finish projects. My dad and his almost 50 employees took a hard hit and money has been tight. He hasn’t lost hope for his truck. He starts it every day and keeps it clean. We did some big work to it last month and is 95% complete and ready to work hard again :] Dat 7.3L, yo! Post coming soon

I am getting less exciting. I had a couple of AMG cars in the past, one I kept for 7 years. But I got over it, and it just doesn’t get me going so much now. I find the purr of the little diesel just as soothing, and with slowly decaying roads and insane traffic, I just don’t enjoy the performance cars so much anymore. the fintail is a forever car, I’ve had it for over 20 years now.
It’s funny to think that my mom with a white Camry once had a 61 Impala convertible or a Beetle with a Porsche 912 engine, that back in the 90s my family fleet included a 60 Country Sedan, 66 Galaxie, and 68 Fairlane all at once, my late father who’s last new car was a Chrysler T&C once had a 70 Mustang and numerous old sporty motorcycles, etc.

Most of my family just drives average cars. Some of them do take pride in their average cars though. The only one with cool cars is my uncle. My grandparents have a 1984 Audi 4000 tucked away in a shed (not running). The car is red with brown velour and a manual transmission. They also have a blue Nissan/Datsun Hardbody (D21, regular cab, 4x4, manual), also not running. Those would be cool if they’d been kept up.
I have an uncle who daily drives a 1998 Mercedes-Benz ML320, which is nothing special except that it’s been in the family since new and has been, against all odds, quite reliable for being the first model year of a new vehicle on a new platform from a new factory in Alabama. (I believe Consumer Reports gave the early ML a solid black dot in predicted reliability.) I’m told the transmission no longer behaves as well as it used to, requiring more manual shifting than it should, but every month that the vehicle soldiers on means more money that my uncle saves for the vehicle’s eventual replacement, if/when the transmission finally dies.
I have another uncle with a Porsche 911 of the 993 series. He bought it used at some point specifically because he wanted one of the last air-cooled 911s. He doesn’t drive it much and seems to hope it will appreciate in value. I’ve never ridden in the car and, frankly, it’s not that appealing to me except in the abstract (i.e. one of the last air-cooled, hand-build 911s). It probably doesn’t help that this uncle is kind of a d-bag.
One of my cousins drives a Saab 9-3 2.0t convertible in Lynx Yellow, which I have to admire just for its rarity and overall aesthetic.
Oh, and there’s a Saab 9-3 Viggen 4-door hatchback, grey, still in the family.

Tough call. My dad has a 93 Cadillac Allante, and I’ve got an 07 Subaru STi. I’ll give the nod to the Allante. Last summer was the first time I ever drove it, and though it is hilariously bad to drive I was giggling the whole time I was driving it. Plus the Northstar sounds awesome.

So in the immediate family either my father with his corvette or me with my S600. An uncle of mine though...off the top of my head he currently has 2 W221 S550, a 220 S55, a 220 S600(sold), a 221 S65, 2 W222 Maybachs, a Ford GT(sold), an SLS roadster, numerous escalades, and an R129 300SL. He has had a few planes, but takes most pride in his wood boat collection. A few of them have Liberty V12 aircraft engines. He’s a bit of a gear head.

My parents were more into luxury cars, and I’m the only one in my family with the weird/rare/impractical car bug.
My brother has a lightly modded Mazdaspeed 3 but he prefers sleepers. It makes more torque than my Ferrari, even before the tune.

its a fairly even battle in the family.
i have the v8 bug, the loud 71 truck, a few 57 chev truck, a 4x4 blazer truck, and a manual 4x4 v8 truck, soon to be a ford model t 4x4 manual underslung frame v8......... most are “under construction”.....
one of my uncles has..... a 61 chev truck, a 66 mustang, a 71 chev truck, 74 chev truck, 78 camaro...... and something else that is escaping me.
another uncle has a 65 chev truck, and some 4x4 datsun trucks.
my cousins have some fun junk, but its not nearly as crazy, ranging from old 65 ish ford trucks to old 4x4 squarebody suburbans. to mini 4x4 trucks.
the other side of the family has a nice old 71 bronco, and some fox mustangs on the extended cousins.
one of my friends has a bunch of old drilling equipment, and its all mounted on old mid 60s trucks. and there is a collection of old falcons laying in the backyard.
its a pretty even playing field........

It is, I’m trying to convince him to either blow it, boost it, or go ITBs. This it would take it all the way, a completed build.
