Well Oppo, the welding on the 280Z has started rolling. My hinge mount repair came out pretty decent.

That’s a large slab of copper to soak up heat and help with warping.

The drivers side is even worse...

My first real attempt at body repair so the tack welds suck, but it was good practice and I’m better now. It was a strong repair at least.

My beat up E36 compact. The way I got the patch to fit the curves properly was to make a cardboard template and cut the metal out. I then tack welded it in the places it fit properly and bent it into place, tack welding to secure it as I went. Gave it a really nice tight fit.
