In case you haven’t heard, testing for the blancpain GT3 championships has begun and the field is incredibly stacked.

Note: photos are taken from the Nismo Flickr page.

Kinja'd!!!

No less than 50 cars with several teams announcing multi car programmes are present at the test, but there is only one for which I am interested.

Kinja'd!!!

That of course being the RJN Nissan team, this year contesting only the Endurance cup. 2017 will be a debut year for the revised R35 GTR GT3 and RJN is now able to run two cars for the full season thanks to the last minute sponsorship of Motul Japan. The lubricants company has had a long standing relationship with Nissan and now expands it’s title sponsorship to several of Nissan’s teams on Super GT, Australian supercars and now the Blancpain endurance championship.

Just listen to the onboard video from the test and be amaze.

Edit: It seems Nismo TV has taken down their video, so I uploaded a mirror.

Two full season Jaguars is my focus.

Emil Frey is low key one of my favourites as well. It will be a miracle to see them top AMG, Audi Sport, McLaren and Ferrari who have no less than 6 cars a piece for the season.

Paying particularly close attention to RJN because the potential late delivery of the revised GTRs has meant Always Evolving had to delay their program in the US.

I just started watching that video and my one year old son stopped watching Elmo and came over to see what I was watching. I showed him the video and he watched it end to end with a huge smile. There is apparently hope for the next generation.

I’d have been more interested in RJN’s campaign if they’d painted a car in the livery the #24 GT-R had at Bathurst. Really though I’m in the anyone but Audi-WRT wagon.

Motul stepped up to be a title sponsor for the program this year, as such the livery has been adjusted accordingly. The #23 car has a gradient to black in the rear which looks slightly better.

Motul happens to be the largest backer of nismo motorsports programs for many years now, but super GT remains their priority.

I know, but both liveries are meh. ‘Zombiezilla’s’ livery was better.

I liked the old GT Academy livery better, but theres still time to change it. Its just the way the gradient was designed, its not proportioned properly. It would look better if it was just red/black and all the decals were white.

Yeah it does look better on the Super GT car.

The Super GT liveries arent final yet, but the Supercars livery looks better as well.
