And a very nice one at that. However, there are a few things that I noticed about this vehicle. I’m in a 2013 and we added heat to the front seats. It has about 68,000 miles.
1. Driver’s seat is mounted too high for 6'3" me to get a good position without my head rubbing the headliner.
2. Gas mileage in the conventional version seems horrible:
Even with the long idle times associated with dropping the kiddos off at school that’s sad.
4. The counterweight on the passenger side windshield wiper is actually pretty cool.
5. It’s awfully quiet in here. Road noise is seriously muffled.
6. The stereo is quite good. However, it did not hold up very well to blasting XM liquid metal.

Did you find yourself driving in more than one lane at a time, backing into things in parking lots and only half parking in spots? or were you only with it for a limited time?

My wife used to have a 2011. Other than being surprised at how bad your gas mileage is, I agree with all of it. I think she got closer to 20. So still mediocre.
I would add that rearward visibility is terrible.
It’s a luxurious vehicle for people who hate driving but need to haul kids, etc.

I returned it to the selling dealer, so about 20 miles/45 minutes. Although with the rear visibility and no back up camera I can’t really blame the people that back into things with it.

Never seen anywhere close to that low worst tank was 19.3. I am also 6'3" and no where close to the ceiling. We have a 2012.

Perhaps the computer that calculates the mpg’s may have been reset recently and those could be the results of just a few miles. I imagine it would average 17-20. Also, due to being highly compressed, most music from Sirius/XM doesn’t sound extremely good when played loudly. Even over the best sound systems...in my experience.

I found the seat height and the headroom being a problem for me on the older models as well :( I’m also 6'3"

When I delivered it, it had “Since fillup” 14.4 mpg
Average “14.7"
with 1/2 tank. The dealer fills the tank at delivery.

I think This was the last year before the spindle grill. And I believe that the backup cam was only on the RX with the nav system.

On my moms rx350 the transmission is a jerky piece of shit, the engine and transmission just don’t want to get along. Beyond that, it’s a decent car, heated/cooled seats, nav, blind spot monitoring, lotsa nice features but God is the transmission a piece of shit.

A good automatic transmission should work without you noticing it, especially in a luxury crossover like the RX. The one I drove - on highway and in traffic for only about 20 miles - was smooth and barely noticeable. Perhaps it’s time to head over to Lexus to reflash the computers.

The tall, boxy hatchbacks and crossovers tend to be pretty good. My wife and I share a car - right now it’s a Jeep Renegade and before that we had a first-gen Kia Soul. VWs tend to have very good seats that can accommodate a large variance in driver size, too.

Serious question: does your shop add forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert systems to vehicles? I see a strong market for aftermarket cameras that are in addition to the usual backup cameras. If I was adult with a child now and had a good amount of money, I’d gladly invest in those systems for their vehicle.

I’m always surprised by how bad headroom can be, sounds infuriating for tall people. I’m 5'10" and still have to keep my seat low
