I love this documentary. They touch on it briefly, but the Quattro program went beyond just the AWD system. Developing the turbo 5 into such a versatile motor was very important too. And the chassis and underpinnings in all the Quattro equipped vehicles meant that Audi went from a “slightly fancier Volkswagen” to a BMW and Mercedes competitor in just a decade. Cadillac wishes they could do half as good as Audi in the 80s

My father in law has a Porsche 924 laying around and my brother in law wants to swap in an Audo 5 cylinder turbo. I happve always told him to just do an LS swap instead, but now I’m a bit more keen on the 5 turbo option.
