I think there’s a reason why this one is so cheap. I travel to the States regularly and am looking for something like this to import back to the UK and the language in the ad is a big clue as to why this is $5k.
I’ve been to to see about twenty ads like this hoping one was just some kid who inherited grandma’s Cadillac but they’ve all turned out to be complete sheds with rotted frames, smokey engines and all sorts of problems.
No one who looks after a classic calls their car ‘sick’. I’m 10 ads down as proof of that. People who know how what these cars are, where to get the parts, do not spell. Like. This.
And is not an ‘n’. Ever.
And it ‘just needs’ exhaust gaskets. What are those? Header gaskets perhaps? Why not just replace them? Cheap job for your local mechanic, even cheaper if you know how to undo a few bolts yourself.
Warning signs all over this one. Having visited many like this on the off-chance that they would be ok, I’d recommend only heading over if it’s local.
It does look good in the photo so it might be that rare find, but be prepared for disappointment! Still haven’t found mine...

Summer classic. I’ve got a buyer for my current one and the right US car will hold its value here. I’m not allowed to spend any money on my hobby these days but I can sell and swap without harrassment!
The cars I would like to look at - Packards, Olds and so on are almost impossible to find buyers for here in the UK when the time comes to sell. You have to buy classic muscle, tri-Chevy or Cadillac. Convertible is better.
I’m over in the States twice a month for 4 or 5 days and I’ve been at this a while now, but that ad is just every red flag from ads I’ve seen combined into one.
It might, however, be superb - but I wouldn’t travel thousands of miles to find out!
It is big for our roads, but you take it slow, you’re not going to be overtaking anyone. If you’re driving a 60s or 70s Cadillac, you’re enjoying the journey, not worried about how long it’s going to take you to get to your destination!
