YOUR RALLY NATION NEEDS YOU!
For those who haven’t heard, stage rally is finally returning to Ohio in May with the Southern Ohio Forests Rally, based in Chillicothe, just south of Columbus. Rally registration opened with a 60 car limit. That limit was reached after just a week, so it was expanded to 70 cars, which has also been reached. In other words this is going to be a big rally. Which means the event needs volunteers.
Volunteering isn’t always easy, as it usually means a long day in the woods and occasionally babysitting drunk spectators so they don’t hurt themselves or others, but it’s also the chance to get closer to the action and competitors than spectators can, and watch the rally from some of the best spots on the stages. Volunteers also usually get free shirts, a swag bag, entry into the awards dinner at the end, and sometimes there’s even a raffle at the end.

Rally is good. Even as a spectator its worth a drive from anywhere in the region.

I already tried (three months ago) to get off work to volunteer, but my coworker had already scheduled vacation for the same days :( I wanted to quit my job. I’m still pissed about not being able to go to this rally.

You can check the supplemental regulations in the competitor section, but it’s possible they’re still finalizing parts of the route

You’re a bit more into it than I ever will be. For me volunteering would be like when Bender say “Neat!” And snaps a picture. I may still think about it but most things I do on a weekend I prefer to be within a three hour drive.

Some friends and I will be joining you guys in Chillicothe in May. I’ll get there early and look for the white VW. If you need any prep or repair help I can bring tools, jack , whatever from Akron. Let me know if I can help otherwise I’m a spectator and photographer.
