A Scirocco and a Peugeot RCZ in the same shot. The RCZ is diesel, the Scirocco rather less so. How much more exciting can today get?

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really want either of them. It was cool to see some of the cars we don’t get here in the US when I was in San Antonio, because of people who were visiting from Mexico, but I didn’t really want any of them.

The RCZ is nothing special.

A guy at work the other day was looking for a replacement to his Toyota Celica who’s clutch gave up the ghost un-expectantly.

He was looking at Honda Civic Type-R. I thought he’d gave up on that idea as he started asking about the Scirocco and the GTC VXR.

Then he came to work last night in a 2007 plate Civic Type-R which he paid £6,200 (about £1-2,000 over regular price for the same car, age and mileage elsewhere). Doh.

I felt the same when I visited America some years ago. It was interesting to see unfamiliar makes or more commonly unfamiliar models from familiar makes, but nothing I’d ever want to own.

Yeah I felt about the same when I was in Germany or Russia, neat to see different cars but we get the cars I’d actually want to buy. Well, speaking of Russia, I would want to at least drive a Lada at some point.
