Kinja'd!!!

Ok. I have been screwing around with the Vespa for about 10 months. I have never owned or ridden a motorcycle or scooter before. When I test drove the Vespa, I was terrified because I had never ridden anything bigger than a bicycle. All I was looking for was a Honda CT70 or CT90 to buzz around the neighborhood, but I found the Vespa.

Because I bought this, I took an MSF class and got my M1 license. Since the Sunchaser has been in for restoration, I have been riding a lot, and god damn, it really is a whole different thing.

I had a financial choice for irresponsible spending between Sunchaser restoration and motorcycle. I chose Sunchaser. But I might have to save a little money just in case...

Shit.

It can be an addictive hobby. Absolutely no doubt about that.

I scan CL daily for a project Honda PC800 and hopefully I’ll have a nice 76 CB550 in my hands next weekend.

My addiction started with a 1973 Maico MC 250 and the love affair has been on and off for almost 30 years now.

My buddy had his chain break on the highway on his Ducati ST4S a couple of days ago. Nothing bad happened to him or the bike (other than the chain). When I brought him over to the bike shop to pick it up...man, there were lots of pretty bikes there. I’ve had my M endorsement and a host of bikes, starting out on a 1976 Honda XL100. I haven’t had a bike in 17 years, after having one consistently since I was 14 or so.

All that to say, the bike bug bites every March for me. Someday I’ll have another! First up, finishing the Cougar.

Considering doing this myself and getting my license. Is the MSF course a BYO bike? Any suggestions or tips?

Bro i was in a similar situation. I wanted to buy a “fun” hatch or coupe i live in ny me n the gf already have a reliable dd but i wanted something fun.

After much thinking i was talked into getting a motorcycle by a coworker. I was scared at first, but now i realize that the bike brings me fun that i think no car can.

Msf is the best even if you are not getting a bike i think what you learn at msf makes you a better car driver also.

If you get a bike the sunchaser is going to just end up sitting. But is that a bad thing?

It’s funny. I’m not really having the urge to modify my scooter ... but I am definitely fighting the urge to keep buying more scooters.

You can try to explain it, but it’s impossible. You do it and then one day you get it. That’s it. And the worst part is some never do. It’s truly a sad shame.
