Worked 0200-1200 today. Have to do it again tomorrow. And every weekend for the next month. Easy money plus an hour of OT. Due to construction in the building, my temporary office is in an old bus parked next to the building. Inside the building or out, I’m just going to be sitting in front of a couple of monitors and radios so it really doesn’t matter where I work.

I stared at a few excel sheets from 10 to 5, which is kind of a boring thing to do in an empty office building. My boss promised he would drop by (it’s not like that is a lot of effort, seeing he lives directly behind our office, and even has a gate between his garden and the parking lot) but it seems like he forgot.

Yup, it is too much to ask for. Newbie gets the shit shifts. It’s the way of the universe.
I actually like working weekends. It’s a lot less work for the same money, and I can get a hell of a lot more done on weekdays - go to the doctor, bank, mechanic, etc., without having to take time off or rush through my lunch break.

I’m an engineer and I’m pretty sure the roll is a normal schedule. Training might not be like that, but I’ve done plenty of overnights before.
Now that I know people down here, I wouldn’t mind having random week days off again. That was nice at times.
