I submit the 2nd gen North American Focus. These are tacky chrome plastic, obviously fake, and only on certain trims. They bother me greatly. What do you got Oppo? I’m going to bed - let’s have some cringe-worthy stuff to scare us awake tomorrow morning.

What exactly are these vents even supposed to be for if they WERE functional? Testing exhaust fume/air mixture? Can’t be for venting the rear wheel wells since THEY’RE WIDER THAN THE DAMN TIRES.

Like the TVR Sagaris bonnet vents.
But the bonnet vents on the Sagaris that were real but made fake because stones were thrown up by the wheels and would come through the vents and break the windscreen.
Though there are a few that have made them real and work.

Does the 3 get those or just the 4? (Minor detail, the 4 is just a 3 with a different name because BMW). Also, I think that vent is functional on the M models. (Not that that makes the fake one any better.)

Counterpoint to almost anything on here:
What would these look like WITHOUT the vents? Aftermarket is one thing, it’s something stuck on to an already complete design that usually messes up the lines. Factory are usually design cheater devices. Quite often you’ll find that without messing with something else, taking away the vent can actually make it worse. At least imo.
You’re Focus, for example. It really needs some Dodge Charger style treatment on the fender or else it just looks kinda dumb with that body line just getting chopped.

While I agree that if it looked like your Photoshop, the fake vent might actually help break up a flat spot. But they already have a body crease there. That helps make it interesting without trying to be something that its not.

There aren’t many in existence.
MG acquired Qvale in Italy and bought the rights to the Qvale Mangusta back in around 2000 and set about making a something that would hopefully ignite MG sales. Unfortunately it did not. But something special was left when MGRover Group died.
That and between 2002 and 2005, using the Ford modular 4.6 V8, the rear wheel drive MG ZT V8 and the Rover 75 V8, both cars came in saloon and estate form and were originally front wheel drive but made rear wheel drive for the engines.

I’m not entirely sure how much they progressed from the initial idea, making some prototypes and then going with blank vents they got to be honest. They may of thought it was too much work to put into the build.
