PSG was definitely on the back foot all night. They had, what, two scoring chances the entire game? But still, that Suarez dive that led to the second PK was egregious and disgusting. I understand that’s “the way the game is played,” but I think it brings the game into disrepute. I think American players don’t do well in international competition because they don’t dive (generally). And that’s a damned disgrace.

I agree on the dive. It was terribad. The problem is that is a common thing with Barcelona. Suarez is a shit person but he’s on a competitive team. Spanish football as whole needs to work on their diving and complaining problems.

Soccer refereeing is a farce. And a significant part of the problem is how the players are allowed to hound and berate the refs. There is absolutely no respect. This is how it should be done. Nigel Owens is the man. To fully understand the humor of the first clip in the second video, you have to know that Owens is openly gay. But he is also, by far, the most highly respected rugby union referee in the world.

I listen to Talk Sport every day and that’s one of the big things constantly brought up. The ref situation for cup play is atrocious. I don’t know what could be done since you’re dealing with refs from so many different countries, but something has to be done to fix this. It’s taking away from the game and that is not a good sign. Nigel is indeed awesome. Football needs more good refs like him.
