Spent the day yesterday under the Honda. Changed the transmission fluid and differential fluid. Not difficult work, but I feel like I was in a car wreck. Sore all over. Maybe us millennials really are that soft?

Honda MTF is still the darling of the S2000 community as far as I can tell.

Is that the famous Honda Transmission Fluid Hydraulic Jack holding your car up? Amazing what the Japanese can pull off even with plastic parts! Miss my AP1 dearly…and funny, the main reason I got rid of it was because it was too cramped, stiff, and noisy for my (millennial) commute.

lol working on the floor really show you how out of shape your core strength is.

Love the pup Idea on the fluid.... When I did my rear diff I gravity fed it.. Not fun. Wish I would have thought harder, but it was late and cold...

Amazing quality

At 6'5" the car is really uncomfortable. I just use it for dragon runs and nice weather days.

Yep. Fitness is a work in progress!

The pump is a god send. Hopefully this one won’t get thrown away like my last one did.

I had a cheap ($6) pump from harbor freight I used to do my diffs and transfer case. I just tossed it when I was done. It was so full of heavy gear oil, that I pretty much couldn’t use it for anything else.

I just did this same service on my AP1 a few weeks ago. Used a pump and everything.

Yeah, I agree. The thing is really uncomfortable. I’m 6'2", but don’t fit great either. It’s loud, doesn’t ride particularly well, can’t listen to much with the top down on the highway. Has me considering switching to a new Miata RF. Need to test drive one to see if it would make a better car to commute in.

I recommend to anyone who can swing it, get a daily driver to go with your sports car. I know it’s an expensive proposition, but even a $3000-5000 runabout will change your life.

I daily a 2015 4Runner usually. It’s just a 66 mile round trip to work every day. Unfortunately the S2k is a bit rough even for that kind of distance. I drive it maybe 1-2 days a week to work when it’s nice, but it seems like a shame to not drive it more. I might try some sound insulation to see if I can make it more comfortable for commuting.

I can understand that. I don’t feel too bad about not driving the S2000 frequently. I put about 5000 miles a year on it and about 7000 on my daily.

I push the Honda hard, so being able to get a year or two out of tires is nice.
