I saw a new Qashqai, erm, Rogue Sport today in Nashville on my way to work. It’s significantly smaller than the Rogue.

I know that taping the badges of a pre-production car is de rigueur but i doubt anyone would notice it at all were it not for the tape.

You’ll know the new Juke if you see it driving around with a giant brown paper bag over it. Also, Qashqai is a totally baller Scrabble word, assuming it would be accepted. Anything with a Q and no U is like a silver bullet.

I’m usually pretty good about figuring out where in nashville people are by the picture but I actually don’t recognize that street.

But the real question is will the Nissan Kumquat be the sixth best selling car in the US?

That was on I-40 heading west. I was just about to pass under Elm Hill Pike and the Fessler’s Lane

It will only rank 6.5th

Ahhh that’s why. I’ve only driven that section of road maybe 10 times. Now I-40 East of town... 10 times a month minimum.

The first time I lived here was in a Donelson and that’s where I am renting now that I am back. So I am have put a lot of miles on cars between exit 216 and 209 (and also between 216 and 226 as well!)

How many Q’s are there in Scrabble?

Dammit, just one. I’ll have to stick with QAT as my go-to “Q with no U” word

Nissan seems to love testing vehicles in the Bay Area so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them here shortly. I rode in one in Europe recently and it was fine. Makes total sense to bring it here. I do wonder how much they’ll modify it’s handling characteristics. I’m always amazed at how different some cars feel in Europe vs the US.

I drive between Nashville and Knoxville all the time. Heck, last summer I lived in Brentwood and worked in Hermitage. i40 east of town is a friend now.

I curious how you’d describe that difference.

It seems to be suspension tuning and engine/transmission choice. Almost every one I’ve been in (entirely in the the UK) have been diesel with a manual and start/stop. The diesels always have slightly worse NVH. The suspension setup always seems to be tuned for slightly more aggressive damping. I imagine every one sold here will be gas with a CVT (probably without start/stop by default) and be slightly retuned for our fat american bottoms.
