#That moment when you spend two hours uploading photos and typing up a mini-review of your 124 on mountain roads, click publish, and your post disappears into the black hole of Kinja being the worst platform ever. Really should have saved it elsewhere, and since I clicked publish an hour and it hasn’t shown up, it’s obviously gone. Ugh.

Oppo-fession: I actually write my bigger posts on Word and save the file because of this very possibility.

Nope, first few minutes I waited refreshing my page to see if I had published to the wrong spot. At least, it doesn’t show up on Oppo/My Page/Anywhere I can see for me, whether I check on my laptop, iPad or phone.

Just seems to have gone into a black hole.

I thought about doing that, and honestly I should have. Since it was just mini-paragraphs to accompany each photo, of which there was 30ish, I figured it’d be easier to manage in the editor. Especially since after about the 10th photo, Kinja tries to reorder everything. I got lazy and trusted Kinja though.

Live and learn though, everything will be saved/typed up elsewhere beforehand.

Try posting a new post and see if it asks to restore the last post you were working on? Kinja often asks me that even if it was a post that was submitted - you might be able to get it back that way?

Also, check your personal Kinja blog in case it went to there instead of Oppo?

Yup, I’ve been there. You’d think only once. But no.

NOW I always type up elsewhere first, if it’s more than a few sentences.

In fact, the editor can be so wonky, I’ll copy/paste out of it and into a simple text editor, then copy/paste back, for anything more than a simple edit.

Check your own blog to find it, then click the reset time at the top. I don’t know why kinja even let’s you schedule posts for the past, but it’s a thing.
