Kinja'd!!!

There’s a local “high mileage interesting cars” dealer near my office. I decided to peek at their inventory, and found this 2004 WRX STI . Check out those super awesome pink wheels! Let’s look at all the vapebro details!

Illegal tint, front lip spoiler, side skirts, passenger side fog light cover removed (maybe for air duct?) and pink Impreza i badge:

Rally-style mud flaps, fart pipe (or more accurately,  thrrrrrummmmm pipe since this is a turbo Subaru) and billet tow hook:

Kinja'd!!!

Haphazardly placed aftermarket gauges:

Kinja'd!!!

Aftermarket double-DIN headunit with slightly questionable install:

Kinja'd!!!

And last but not least, 4-point (not 5-point) harness anchored down to rear child seat anchor points:

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

After much internet sleuthing, I’ve identified the previous owner!

I don’t think the pink wheels necessarily mean female previous owner. The STI logo is pink.

I’d rock it.

I’ll go in, rip a sick cloud, yo, and then they’ll just give me the car.

That’s honestly not bad for an Impreza. That is also the proper way you install a 4-point harness in a car without a roll bar.

The air vent oil pressure gauge is what elevates this to art.

I guess the thing with the 4-point harness is if it were a real race car it’d have a 5- or 6-point. 4-point is mostly for looks or just strapping in tighter for an autocross, but not the best idea for a safety device.

I think this was owned by a rare breed - the vape chick. Only wears black, highlighter colored hair, token girl in the local subaru club. Owns a vape, but only hits it around the right people

I feel like the wheels could be a less classy version of this.

i totally agree that they’re not necessarily female and i was presumptuous

personally 8/10 pink accented stis i recall seeing have had female drivers and the 5 female owned ones i’ve seen stopped all had shitty mods but maybe just #subieculture

It may be “proper,” but it’s still terrifying to me. That steep downward angle goes against everything I’ve been taught about belts. I also don’t like how they get pinched together by the center seat hole.

I need to re-watch the Genndy Clone Wars series again.

My wife: “I love the color scheme I put together for our bedroom!”

Me: “It’s certainly a lot of purple.”

Wife: “It’s not purple, it’s lavender .”

It’s no where near as good as a proper safety harness with a roll bar etc. but as a way to hold yourself into the seat better without giving up the usability of the rear seats if you need them. The angle is rather steep but I don’t think pinching would be an issue here as the opening on an STI seat is about as wide as some proper racing seats.

These aren’t really a safety improvement over the factory belts.

Yeah, but with racing seats there are two separate holes to ensure the belts are at the correct (and consistent) spacing. No such assurances here.

I actually see a fair number of women with tricked out subies. The huge import tuner meet out at the XXX in Issaquah, WA last weekend had a bunch of them. Honestly - one of the nicest looking WRXs, (current gen, red, just enough tweaks to make it cool but stay classy,) was a lady’s.

The 2004 STI did not come with a stereo stock, just blank pieces of plastic that said Subaru that covered the double-din. If you wanted a stereo, it was a $1500+ dealer installed option. Subaru thought everyone would just want to listen to the sweet sounds of that Boxer. Subaru also had a nice 3 gauge pod for where the dash clock was, or where this person poorly installed that single gauge on the dash. There was a vent gauge available as well, but it required removing the vent, which this person clearly did not do. I am going to guess they just lost the right side fog cover.
