I genuinely don't mean to bring this up two days in a row.

Kinja'd!!!

But I was browsing Jaguarforum’s classified ads and saw this ad for a 2000 XK8 for a pretty sweet and unusually realistic $7k.

Then I looked at the photos.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

I mean, I get how some random dipweed might ruin their XK like that, but someone on a brand enthusiast forum who has clearly poured a lot of money to keep their car on the road?

I would want that returned to stock before buying it.

Nah. It’s lowered, which is not really a thing XK owners do.

The leaper? Or the failed air suspension that makes it look #stanced?

I think he just lowered it to stupid levels, because XK8s don’t have air suspension. But both, especially the leaper, since at least you can fix the suspension.

Really? Well, any and all desire I have ever had for an XK just went right out the window...

What a shame. It was so pretty, too. I’m a fan of the convertible.

It’s almost as bad as when Jennifer Grey got her nose job.

Really? Personally, owning a Town Car, I would never want to deal with another air suspension ever again. Plus, why would you want to substitute super stiff stock Bilsteins for a softer air ride?

Clicked on the ad. That forum must be pretty forgiving because no one’s said anything about it. They praise it as well sorted and cared for. Also, it makes sense that it’s a Florida car.

As a rule, I don’t do “normal” suspension in modern cars. Air suspension is the only way to get a luxury car to ride properly. I even find the hydraulic system in my S-Class a little too harsh sometimes. And the normal gas-struts with active dampering in the S-Type R is just diabolical. Our X350 has the best ride of all our cars, except the seats are a little to hard.

Yeah, they’re normally just too nice to tell people how awful they are. There are lot’s of posts where someone does that to their car and the consensus is usually “I wouldn’t have done that, but if it makes you happy, it’s your car.”

ABC is a little harsh sometimes. That LS460 with conventional struts is the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven though. Also, the S class will be sticking around for a month or two while I find a suitable replacement. Think 221 S65

Audi St. Paul had a 221 S65 for, I think $35,000? HAD one. My friend said it got loaded onto a car carrier first thing yesterday morning.

2007-08. Dark blue with tan interior. Keep an eye out, it probably went to auction so it may show up in Minnesota again. My guess is it’s on it’s way to Chicago though.

I feel like we’ve had a similar discussion before. I’m pre-facelift all day long. I hate the newer steering wheels.

I can’t stand the tail lights. The steering wheels don’t bother me much
