Finally posted up an add to sale my BRZ on the ft86club forum and even though I explicitly stated No Trades, that I need to sale the car, and the first private message I get is this:
“Hey man- any interest in trading for a 2013 gen coupe 3.8l track edition with the 8speed paddles + extra bolt ons?”
I figured I’d post on the forums first before being exposed to the idiotic responses from craigslist, and yet I still get one. Sorry to bother, just wanted to rant.
Pic of stated car for sale. If anybody is interested in a well documented & maintained supercharged BRZ, let me know and I’ll provide the link.
Side note, WTF, who would want to go from a Manual boosted BRZ, to an automatic Genesis coupe?

Whats the supercharger setup? My best friend put his supercharged BRZ on AutoTrader and it sold in less than a week. Same wheels, jackson racing supercharger, full suspension setup for auto x.

Time to move on to another car adventure, plus it’s my down payment for a Grand Sport. Been using the BRZ as a drift car, and I know eventually it’ll get wrecked. Hard to damage such a new car and lose that much money, so getting a cheap car for that instead.

The idea of proposing one’s own car as a trade for someone else’s car is inherently stupid.
A car for-sale ad is generally understood as “I will give you my car in exchange for a certain amount of money.”
The thought process of someone who proposes a trade is roughly:
“I like this car that’s for sale! I won’t have the money to buy it unless I get rid of my car. Doing that sounds hard. I’m going to offer my car instead.”
Nobody walks into a grocery store and says, “I like these steaks and potatoes you have for sale! Please accept as payment the stockpile of 50 pounds of Cheerios I have in my basement.”
But that’s what a person making a trade offer is doing.
They obviously don’t give a shit whether that’s something the seller is asking for. They’re just hoping the seller will randomly think their car is worthwhile enough of a replacement for the car they’re selling that they’ll magically agree.
It could happen! If the seller is similarly dumb as the trade-proposer, of course. There’s a lot of dumb people out there in the world.
“No trades” on an ad doesn’t deter the trade-proposer, because they still think maybe, just maybe, you’ll like their car SO MUCH that you agree.

When to use sell or sale:

I have a car for sale.
