It’s also a good time to change the air in your tires get rid of that stale winter air for fresh spring air.

Replace your motor oil with coolant so it doesn’t overheat in the summer weather.

I like to replace the winter fuel in the tank with refreshing Ice Tea.

The port for your blinker fluid shrinks shut in the winter so drill in a new one for spring!

As well, make sure to change your blinker fluid from winter to spring/summer. All season blinker fluid will also do.

Use oven cleaner to clean the stubborn salt off of your car’s bodywork.

Take off your car’s tires. Contrary to popular belief, tires are only needed to get traction driving through snow. You don’t need traction in warm weather.

As well, having your brakes have direct contact with the road will allow for them to respond faster, reduce stopping distance, and the smalled contact patch will increase fuel efficiency.

But you do actually check the pressure periodically, especially as temps change, right? Deflate-gate is actually real! PSI goes down with cold, up with heat!

Make sure you put your radiator back in, you’ll need it to keep the engine cool in the warmer weather.

Rotate your floor mats.

Now that we transition from Winter to Spring, you’ll need to put the carpeted mats on top of the rubber mats, rather than the other way around as you have for the last 5 months.

Pull the wheels off your car, lift it up and put a convertible in its place; reinstall the wheels.

Also, synthetic fluid will last longer.

The summer sun can be blindingly bright and your sunglasses alone won’t protect you. Put a dark tint on your windshield to help you see.

You will need some hand fluid or lotion - also preferably synthetic.

Drain your winter blinker fluid and replace it with a heavier weight.

When working on your vehicle don’t forget to always replace micro-encapsulated hexalobular bolts!

Kinja'd!!! "CB" (jrcb)
03/08/2017 at 17:06, STARS: 0

To save weight, can I use pentalobular bolts, or would you advise against that?

Kinja'd!!! "AMGtech - now with more recalls!" (amgtech)
03/08/2017 at 18:13, STARS: 3

You can. But I don’t have sockets for those.

Side note: micro encapsulated hexalobular bolts are a real thing as described by Mercedes, and in reality must be replaced every time. Otherwise known as external torx with loctite on the threads.

Yes! The blinker fluid is indeed empty!
