You know you made a good find when Tanner Foust makes a video on it. Just a road I stumbled upon by accident about 30 minutes outside of Portland, Oregon

Kinja'd!!!

I must admit, he looks quite a bit more impressive going up it, even in a “Beetle” than I do.

Sliding sideways in just about any vehicle is one of the best sensations a person can experience. I still remember throwing my hips in to my powerwheels as a little kid to get it to slide.

Whenever I go go-karting(a lot less more often than I wish I did) I get dirty looks on that last lap after they end the timed portion because I slide around every single corner, either entering slow, hard power out with the wheel cranked or entering way too hot and brake locking the rear wheels around the corner

Haha, a go-kart/dirt bike on a dirt road is my favorite way to go sideways.

Never been on a dirt bike, and never had a go-kart on a dirt road but that sounds like a blast.

I miss sliding around, I’m always too paranoid my 4Runner is going to topple over and my BMW is sitting in a garage 3,000 miles away.

This looks familiar. Been my testing ground for suspension tuning the track car and bikes a couple years now.

Great, now I’m going to have to deal with slow stanced Ken Block wannabes out for “cruises” in lines 40 cars deep in poorly modified shitheaps for the first part of the summer. :(

I really, really hope not. The video doesn’t make the location terribly obvious and it takes some time to get out to. I mean everyone interested knows Syline and it’s normally pretty empty, especially out that far.

What’re you driving/riding? Maybe I’ve seen you.

Depends on the day, either a blue FR-S that is too loud, or a blue Suzuki DR-Z 400 Supermoto that is way too loud, or a blue Suzuki SV650 that is not really too loud.

First sunny day I’m going to bring the awful Miata out there for a shakedown.

A blue FR-S would blend in up there haha.. Maybe I’ll see you over the summer if I’m back in Portland. Who knows where I’ll be this summer though

Is that Skyline?

Close, it’s one of the roads running down to 30 from Skyline. Rocky Point Rd, way down towards Scappoose(don’t tell anyone about it, it’s our secret)

I don’t live there anymore, so no worries. Your secret is safe. :)

I always found Skyline to be too crowded, especially if the weather was halfway decent. I was always too slow for the guys on dualsports, and having to slow down for the guys on Harleys.

My wife’s folks live out on a twisty river road east of Camas, and that was always a fun drive. She grew up driving that road, so she would always spot me on corners - “Slow down for this one, but you can take the next one fast.” She would hustle her Camaro down that road at 2am, so nothing I was doing in our pig of a Blazer was a surprise to her.

Not that the advice is relevant anymore for you but I’ve always found it’s pretty good once you get past Cornelius Pass. You occasionally get trapped behind somebody but it’s a lot more rare and there are a ton of good roads to explore off of Skyline out there. Also, you hit the rural speed zone pretty quick which gives you a lot more wiggle room to go fast without risking getting pulled over.

If i ever get back up there, I hope to try Skyline again, so thank you!
