Seems pretty strange that a corporation would have no problem with salaried workers striking. Can I give you guys some things to strike for? Mine as well stay home if you’re still getting paid, right? What multinational bank? There’s probably a plethora of things they’ve done to warrant a strike.

All female employees of the city of Providence were told they would face no penalty for not being in today, so municipal court is a ghost town as all the people there except the clerk are women. As a result, we’re not booting cars today, just doing warning notices. So...pretty good, actually.

I support women but there’s a time and a place. The day of a huge exam isn’t one. Public accounting is pretty good about it too. There’s was a huge problem with gender diversity that is still being fixed, but it is being fixed quite quickly. I’m interviewing right now and I speak to my 3rd person on Thursday. The recruiter-Women, the first Senior Manager-Man, the second Senior Manager-Women. 2/3 is pretty good.

The one woman that works in my area is wearing pink, but I highly doubt that that’s related, given what she’s mentioned about politics.
Really, I feel like this won’t have that much of an impact where it really matters (other than being mocked by right-wing media), even though I support the cause that it’s attempting to call attention to, due to the nature of attempting to implement national protest in such a large nation. However, at the same time, I don’t think it’s really going to cause any harm either, so more power to those that want to try.
In any case, I suspect that the strike that would be most effective is one that can be sustained, which calling off work for a day can’t be. Somewhere I saw a sex strike being suggested, and that might be the way to go - it can be sustained indefinitely, after all.
