Kinja'd!!!

Maybe it won’t be that bad. Nissan Versa hatchback for a 600 mile round trip adventure for work. Hopefully it will at least be mildly comfortable and not break or something. It will surely be driven like a race car at all opportunities though! My coworker is codriving this turd so at least I don’t have to drive the whole way. It does have a 4x100 bolt pattern I think so I could put some Hoosiers on it, that would be more fun!

Yes, it will be that bad. These are hateful little cars. I have a couple in my fleet and I despise them. I have an older Versa with the 1.8 and that one is fun, but the Versa Note can’t get out of its own way.

I loved the one I rented.

Is it that awful turquoise? It looks like the color changing hot wheels...turquoise for cold water, pink for hot.

Also, try taking it around hairpin turns at top speed. It doesn’t feel exciting at all while doing it but it can handle much more than you’d expect.

Top speed hairpins will definitely be performed. Those eco saver shit season tires will be squealing! I’m not sure what color, my coworker picked it up. Solid choice versus the alternative of a Mitsubishi Mirage that had a solid weed stank to it.

Yeah at least it’s not a note!

I’m actually hoping for a Mirage tomorrow! I’ve only gotten one of them and I think they’re hilarious. Tired of the Versa and Yaris.

YMMV. One of my friends bought one new (CVT) in 2012 and still loves it.

I thought it was a very fun little city car. I drove from CVA to DC in one and it had more than enough power to get through the many hills of CVA and power to get around in Nova traffic.

I enjoyed it on the way up. The while 12 hours with it was kinda meh... But I did the round trip in an evening just to drop off a textbook.

See if you can find the top speed.

I hope you like your music loud. You’ll need to crank the stereo to combat wind noise at highway speeds!

Ooooh, a Note!

I was wondering what a Versa was. The Note is being replaced by the latest Micra, where that’ll leave the Versa, er, version, I don’t know.

My mom has one and it’s not that bad, it needs a lot of momentum to get going though. At least you won’t spend a lot in fuel.

I always enjoy getting something different, even if it’s terrible. The note isn’t bad. Just makes me laugh with the CVT but it’s not painfully slow at least.

Yeah its not bad at all really. Just everything feels cheap but it is cheap so it makes sense. Nothing wrong with it really. Even actually corners decently. The CVT is shit but that’s just because I hate CVTs

I mean I drive a Miata so everything is a luxury car in comparison in terms of wind noise. The fusion I drove last week felt like I was driving a library but the versa isn’t that bad. Certainly quiet enough to drive comfortably for 6 hours straight.

The CVT is the only bad part. I mean I guess it makes it move quickly and efficiently but it’s just offputting. Flooring the car leaves it at 6k rpms and it’s weird seeing no shifts for like 20 seconds to 70ish

Well I’m not paying for fuel, foot is on the floor at all times lol. It’s faster than a Spark and it doesn’t handle terribly. U turns can be done without it understeering like a pig.

Hmm...you haven’t tried driving uphill in the mountains with it have you. It’s a tolerable car, but it hated Utah and Mesa Verde.

I ended up with a Fiesta sedan, btw. Had 6 miles on it when I got it and will be turned in with 12.

Can’t say anything about CVT’s because I’ve only driven one.

Well yeah, no hills at all along the coast from NJ to VA. So it served it’s purpose of being free transportation. If I was just driving myself, I definitely would have just brought my Miata. But it wasn’t really warm enough for a top down highway adventure anyways so shitty rental paid for by work made sense. I can’t imagine this car would do well at altitude or going up steep inclines.
