The only reason I didn’t is because I got a new set of all-seasons in the middle. The summers were done.

Yup. I didn’t bother taking the insurance off my Miata. Was driving it to work in Feb. (in Ontario). On summer tires.

I just drove through Maryland on Thursday night, stayed in Virginia. Friday morning all the news channels were covering accidents on iced over roads in Maryland... how did your summer tires do in that?

I got two cars. Normally I’d have to swap out on the “fun” car. Didn’t need to this winter. There was only one day where I drove it and thought I wish I had winter shoes.

Yea, that was crazy day here in metro DC area.

And speaking of crazy, now that it’s been in the 60's and 70's in February, it’s going to snow on Sunday. In March. Yes, yes, I know it’s still winter.

I’m already preparing for my son’s school to be closed on Monday due to inclement weather (i.e. 1" of snow).

The blizzard outside says it hasn’t been ALL winter yet.

Highways here are all closed. I snowshoed to work this morning.

You are my hero. I lived in the Boston area for one year. Vowed I would never live anyplace that far north ever again.

All time cold and snowy here in the north west US. Almost 30+ continuous days below freezing from thanksgiving through christmas, and at one point we had 40" of snow in our yard. Still on my snows and have no plans to take them off. Maybe in april.

Freezing rain yesterday plus six inches of snow and wind gusting to 55mph makes for zero traction and zero visibility. Boston’s too far south for me. Not having a proper winter is just too unnatural.

Huh, that’s crazy. I never heard about that. So basically they don’t know how to prep roads for ice? They had warning signs all over the place the night before about “Winter weather forecast tomorrow AM” etc, so the highway departments weren’t aware of the pending freezeover?

never bought winter tyres, don’t think they’re even available here in Australia.
