Kinja'd!!!

If Jeep survives, in 20 years we’ll see a Liberty revival, touting the heritage a machine that no one will remember as being kind of crap. The previous gen with the diesel was pretty cool, though. Let’s look at that instead.

Awww yeah.

No those Diesel liberties were garbage. They didn’t even get good mileage.

The Liberty was sold outside the USA as the Cherokee. The Cherokee is now sold worldwide as the Cherokee. The Liberty revival is the here and now.

I like both versions, but I prefer the newer of the two. The original Liberty looked too cartoonish. The 2008-11 model looked great.

They’re too heavy, cheaply made, and unreliable, but they are capable and look good.

If I could get a 2nd gen Liberty with the FCA interior fix and the Pentastar instead of the 3.7L, I’d drive the shit out of it to be honest.

The KJ is kinda an alternative second-gen ZJ. In that it’s the replacement for the XJ when that’s what the ZJ was for. It was even called the Cherokee in other markets. The KK is too far removed from the XJ, though.

I saw one at a fuel station not long ago and couldn’t believe it. The thing sounded like garbage and was spewing black smoke.

Yeah, I drove one once it only had 170,00 miles but every price of it was falling apart, and it was the slowest thing I’ve ever drivin. I’d rather drive an old diesel rabbit.
