I could probably make every post about the cruze be called "interesting" because I'm learning so much about it and modern cars

Kinja'd!!!

It’s amazing how low the tank can get before the light comes on, also I haven’t filled it up since I got it roughly a month ago. My wallet is enjoying not getting gas every two weeks now.

I’m sure your fuel pump LOVES that!

333 miles per tank?

Well subtract 19, the dealer filled up the tank to full and it had 19 miles upon purchase

I’m sure it does! I just did this as a small experiment and besides, that’s what warranty is for. Right?

I can usually get about 350 miles in my Mazda3 (with about 3-4 gallons left in its 14 gallon tank) before I fill it up.

Modern compact cars are amazingly efficient.

I’ve been stopping for gas MORE since I got the Abarth.

Of course, it could be the fact that it has a 10 gallon tank....

I could probably get a way higher mpg if I had less hills on my daily route and if I actually drove it economically, I like to switch between fun and eco driving, safely of course.

The misconception that the low fuel light means you’re almsot out of fuel is aged and not relevant anymore, really. Modern cars have idiot-proofed to the point where their low fuel lights and “distance to empty” meters are exaggerated enough to virtually guarantee not running out of gas. Unless, of course, you ignore them for a long, long time.

My wife’s 2013 Mazda CX-5 has said “1 mile to empty” before and still had 2 gallons of fuel left in the tank, which is about 55 miles.

I wish my FoST had a bigger tank. It’s only ten gallons and some change, and it has me filling up about every 6 days or so. I do like that it’s never really that big of a hit to my wallet when I fill up though!

Lol I’m just messing with you. Unless you were doing this every single day it shouldn’t be an issue.

I bet that goes way up in the next year when you stop driving it like you stole it :P
You should be getting like 450+ per tank.

Was your previous car a bmw? My old e46 easily got 380/ tank while commuting and I got over 500 once.

Oh my efficiency goes through the floor in the winter. It’s just getting warmer again so my MPGs are once again going back up to respectable levels.

Yeah my last dd was an e28, I’ll have to give it one last good drive before I sell it. And yeah I know I should be getting a lot more miles but I’m young, gotta have my fun while I can, it just happens to cost me less with the cruze, also my social life in and outside the house is a mess and driving is my only fun/release, but that’s just my problem.

My girlfriends dad has learned that his new Traverse can drive for a long time after the low fuel light and warning chime come on, so he does. I’m surprised he hasn’t run out of gas yet, apparently he ran out of gas in his last car like 3 or 4 times. And yet, he keeps driving on empty.
