This day is just getting worse and worse.

First, that kid’s mom won’t sell me the F-150 (no big deal, I kinda figured, but still bums me out.) Okay, it sucks, but.....

Then I re-post my craigslist ad for the Bronco. A little while later, I get an email. It has this.

Kinja'd!!!

Nine years. Nine fucking years of dreaming and digging and trying to find it, only to found out it was crushed 7 years ago.

Guys, I think I’m about to have a mental breakdown. I actually started crying, as pathetic as that sounds. I put so much time and energy into finding it. I frequently had dreams revolving around getting it back. It’ll never happen.

Well, at least you have closure, which is better than nothing. Imagine never knowing. Remember it for the good times you had, and never forget them.

Well that’s a fucking bummer. If you couldn’t do anything with it, you’d at least want to find it and make that decision yourself because it’s too far gone or whatever...hate to see the decision taken out of your hands like that.

It’ll work out for the best, I’m sure. American cars of that vintage generally don’t age gracefully unless they’re doted over...I once found my late brother’s ‘87 Trans Am years after he passed and it was a parts car by that point. Still, doesn’t make it hurt less. Sorry bud.

I remember you telling me about that. I would’ve fixed this truck even if the frame was split in half. That’s how far the obsession went with it. To the point to where I didn’t care if there wasn’t a solid piece on it.

Honestly, the best thing to do is to save a similar model car from the same fate. Ensure that another Bronco doesn’t suffer the same way.

I don’t really want another one. It just wouldn’t feel the same.

This. If I had the money, I’d have gotten another 3rd gen T/A, swapped any parts worth keeping from my brother’s car, then sent it on its way.

I can definitely understand that. I still have my first car, only because I don’t want to get rid of it. It’s not replaceable to me, and I did want to make it faster (don’t have any funds for that though). Have entertained selling it toget a down payment for a minivan. ...family comes first before my wants, :/.

I’m the same way with most cars, honestly. My 1996 Dakota isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Unfortunately with older cars, you have to sacrifice one to save another. It’s just the law of the land now.

There’s a mustang on my in laws property, a ‘67 mustang. It was owned by the uncle, who was unfortunately found dead in a highly suspicious way (looked like murder I heard). I told one of his kids, if I ever get permission to keep the mustang, I’d do everything I could to get it back on the road. I never met the guy, but he sounds awesome. I may be married into the family, but I feel like the car needs justice done to it. The reason I don’t have it is because of family politics, but so far I’m the only person who has shown interest in the car.

Ha, my first car is a ‘08 pt cruiser. But in a way it’s a troll, a lot of people hate getting passed by a pt; it’s hilarious. I can think of nothing funnier than a pt cruiser passing someone, and they can’t keep up, lol. Plus I really wanted to rally it, :).

You should totally build it. Didn’t some of them have turbos from the factory?

Yeah, with 240 hp I believe. If only I had the funds, :(.
