And I am pleased. We pulled up to the dealership to buy the new truck and I heard it. Damn near snapped my neck to catch a glimpse and boy howdy was it the right thing to do .
I don’t know much about it except for 440/4bbl and automatic, probably A727. I aksed the owner if he would mind me drooling over my dream car for a few. He obliged, saying “it’s my dream car too, I just get to see it every day”

I always actually quite liked the earlier rounded tails on that gen of Charger.

Me too. I think the minor restyling of the ‘69, while good in its own right, doesn’t stand up to the basic beauty of the ‘68.

Most people are all in on the later, fatter Chargers. Nah, bro. I like the fender strakes and lights on the ‘67 more, but there’s no wrong answer here and the ‘68 roofline is in a class of its own.

Yes. The 727 came with the 383/4bbl, 440/4bbl, 440 pack (in 1970), and the 426 hemi. The slant-6, 318, and 383/2bbl had the lighter duty 904.
Of course what we really prefer with all those is the 4 speed manual, but those are relatively rare. The 727 at least could handle all the punishment those big motors could dish out.

Personally I like the 1970 the best, but all 3 years from that generation look gorgeous.

68 is best, 70 is second (too much chrome), ‘69 split grille is terrible.

It is not. Definitely a custom mix. For reference, here’s a Charger in the 1970

gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love ‘68s.......so damn good looking. Those taillights, the rear window, just perfect. Minus the vinyl roof, perfection.
