I like the way PSA did it with making the cockpit windows the eyes:

Don’t even get Torch started on where the eyes SHOULD be. I think this livery would be cooler as an orca because (a)big fat plane and (b)they already have those markings that look like eyes, but aren’t.

Southwest already did the orca, but I prefer the Salmon-Thirty-Salmon of Alaska.

They do. I wish more airlines did special liveries like these. Southwest has their state flag series, which I think looks fantastic.

If not, they’ve made a major design mistake.

The do and I can’t ride on one from SFO!!!! I would have to go to San Jose AHHHHHH. I am a bit mad about it. We keep saying we will go all the way down there to ride on it. WTF SFO!

Yeah, kinda sorta. After they took over the defunct Skymark airlines they agreed to buy three of the six that Skymark had on order; Emirates is taking the two undelivered frames that were built for Skymark and were sitting around in storage.

ANA may have a handful of routes on which they can use such an aircraft, so buying a few was probably cheaper than the various cancellation penalties, and giving them away to a premier carrier gives the A380 program a little boost, albeit not financially. Don’t expect much in the way of follow-on orders or expect ANA to build up a huge fleet of these ungainly behemoths. It will probably work well for them as a niche product for some high-density routes, like TYO-HNL, but it will never form the backbone of their fleet.

L-1011 Fangirl and you show a picture of a 727? Hmm...

I can’t help but think of old-people sunglasses when I see that aircraft:

(disclaimer: I just picked up a pair of those sunglasses, albeit at the Goodwill Outlet for next to nothing and more for a laugh than anything else...)

Well, it was more Airbus dropping Skymark when they filed for bankruptcy and couldn’t make the progress payments....
