As both a Monster Jam employee and monster truck dork in general, I approve of this post. Hope you enjoyed the event. From what I saw this afternoon’s event was pretty nuts.

It was. The racing was pretty cool but quick. The wheelie competition was dull compared to the rest of the show. The freestyle competition was awesome. The big names (monster, max-d, grave digger, etc) went harder than the smaller names. Clear who had the money to repair broken stuff

I wonder how anyone even gets started in monster truck driving. It’s not like they have a junior formula, do they? Monster karts followed by formula monster junior then monster subcompacts then monster trucks? It’s also kinda crazy how much expensive stuff breaks at every event, flipping over or rolling is nothing to worry about it seems. So, unless a driver or team has huge money to begin with, I’m not sure how anyone gets started in that.

They look like maybe one section over. We got lucky. Ticketmaster sold us seats that don’t exist. When we went to the ticket office they gave us upgraded seats. We went from the 300 section to the 100

There’s a monster truck university. No joke. They played a video for it on the big screens. At least that’s for drivers. No idea on starting with a truck/team.

I get it in a way, as long as it’s like tractor pulling. Have a big commercial farm and you can blow 150k on engines every month. Shoot, I’d like to try a gas turbine engined monster truck but the jumping and tumbling would destroy it in minutes.
