What happened to all the 11th generation F-150's?
I seem to see more of the bubblier 10th gen ones than these. Maybe its regional, maybe the 11th gen is too generic to be seen. But you’d think they’d still be very numerous.

Exported to other countries? Buy them cheap at American auctions and sell them in countries with lax import laws. We see it with Toyotas why not Ferds.

Yup. the 5.4 3 valve happened.
2 piece sparkplugs and the 5.4 tends to eat coil packs as well.
VCT solenoid issues too. Makes em sound like a damn diesel.

You probably see them without realizing it. On top of that tons are still used and abused by companies both foreign and domestic.

The 11th generation 5.4 had cam phaser and other problems that will eventually kill the motor. My 97 f150 has 264k miles, still runs like new.

My buddy’s dad has one that he bought new back in ‘07. Besides the obvious spark plug issue, and the fact that the truck eats coil packs, it’s also rotting out pretty bad. He’s owned F series trucks since the 70s, and he said that’s the worst generation he’s ever owned. A lot of them from that gen seem to have rust issues here North of the border.

of course there’s going to be some around, but this was the best selling vehicle every year it was built. I see tons of GMT800's, 2nd gen Rams even F2/350s, but not too many of these.

The 5.4s like to drop valves at randomly low mileage. And I have seen several with rust issues already. :-/

I don’t see many either. Which is a shame. I like them much more than the ‘97-’03. They’re the newest F-150 I’d actually WANT to own. We leased a 2004 FX4 off the showroom floor. Damn, that was a great truck.
