Kinja'd!!!

Someone on the FP was complaining that the biased media has become so shameful that they actually have the gall to  endorse politicians, so I decided to see how long the Times has been endorsing candidates. Turns out that their first endorsement was for Lincoln.

“Mr J.W. Gerard, who talks in italics and deals largely in very poor jokes”

“Mr. O’Conor becomes facetious—very much as a retained and well-bred hyena might be.”

“Waxes strong on statistics and small quotations”...I’m adding that to my username. That’s awesome.

People on the FP need to google the Fourth Estate.

This is why education is so important.

I was going to reply to them and explain how bad newspapers were through history but I’m just not in the mood to get in to it on a lazy Sunday. At the very least they should rewatch His Girl Friday/The Front Page.

During Madison-Jefferson, papers would common accuse opposing candidates of anything from adultery to atheism.

I think today, either of those would be considered an endorsement rather than an indictment by large portions of the electorate. :/

Saved the whole article to give to my dad. He’ll love this.

“Things will go on very much as they have hitherto.” Oh boy.

Well an atheist president wouldn’t abide rumors of his staff supporting holy wars at least (not that they wouldn’t start a more pragmatic one) and our last adulterous president worked out alright.
