I’ve been part of ACNA for almost 20 years. I’d say 90 of those parts weren’t needed. Somebody with money owns that car who likes to brag about what HE has done to the car even though he never grabs a wrench. Have met a few of that type. Actually I know many who would consider that car at that price.

I’d never buy one of those older A4 or S4 because of the higher maintenance after they hit 75-80k. I do DIY repairs but still wouldn’t do it again. I drove the other cars into the 130k miles range before selling them. I’m past having the older Audis and went newer generation this time around. Daughter has 2012 A4 and me my A3 quattro. I have to laugh when people post rarity fo these cars. My 2008 A3 with 3.2 is 1 of 682 sold in the US that year and 1 of 725 worldwide. Few were sold in Europe because they also had the S3 at that time. Even at Audi meets few people know the scarcity. George Achorn of the Fourtitude website and Kris Hansen of Audiworld are part of the handful of guys that have seen my car at the Carlisle Import show and have known how few exist. Some of the Audi purist dismiss the car because of the Haldex drivetrain instead of Torsen and being Golf R32 based but thats why its easier for me to get parts and cheaper to maintain. In the VW line there were 5000 R32 MT Golfs made in 2004 and then that number repeated in 2008 with those having DSG trans.

I’m more or less ignorant about these cars. My response was just going for typical Oppo lulz
