I’m sorry Brown Welding Dog. It was really crushing to read about a fellow opponaut having his ride stripped by crooked shops and his business cleaned out by shitty thieves. I wish I had more to offer than ‘I’m sorry’. I wish so many in Detroit weren’t living the same story about getting their shit stolen. I wish the cops there weren’t so crooked. I wish carjackers would stop at grand theft auto instead of graduating to murder just because they can.
Humans have been the most successful species to ever emerge from Earth’s ecosystem. We rule this planet. How can we have so much power and at the same time be completely helpless against the problems we create ourselves?

I read that when it first showed up. It was a hell of a read. And incredibly disheartening. I hope the writer ended up getting his stuff back, but I highly doubt that will ever happen.

I missed the post the first time, so thanks for bring it up. Amazing story, but it doesn’t shock me about Detroit. Everyone I know from around there moved away, and then moved their parents away as soon as the family could afford it.
