They definitely sharpened it up. I am not sure where the wheels were sourced (I doubt Monteverdi made them), but those were equipped on the cars when new. Slotted mags were a big thing then.
The earlier and larger 375/4 was also a handsome if not somewhat brutal thing, also with a Mopar powertain:

It’s a big car. Nice styling though, chiseled but not angular for the sake of angular. Tall greenhouse, thin pillars, never to be seen again.

Or a Mercedes sedan from the late 80s. A guy I knew too well, for too many years, told me that in order to lighten the curb weight of modern vehicles, manufactureres are using less glass because it’s heavy, and with it being smaller and curvier, the glass is stronger and is part of the crash protection.

A 201 or 124 should be good for visibility, 123 too. Really, most postwar 20th century small-middle MBs will be good in that regard, as they were made for driving, function comes first, and if the design is timeless. all the better.
All of the power/tech junk and safety equipment seems to add a lot of weight. The proliferation of AWD can’t help, either.
This is my current fleet:
They are similar in dimensions, but the one on the right weighs more than 1000 lbs less - half a ton! No power luxuries, no AC, thin pillars with lots of glass, and it is amazingly easy to maneuver in tight spots, as the horizontal surfaces are fairly flat. I chose the modern car in part because I like the now older more upright design - no claustrophobia, decent visibility compared to many cars, but compared to the old car, it is isolation.

It’s a fun car, especially for something that isn’t exactly high performance. Quite reliable, and comfortable being so airy on tall tires. Pic is from today, caught a break in the weather and took it out for a spin:

Just over 100 is the top end, it’ll probably do 80-90 all day, but it takes time to get there, and the engine would need to be in good shape. Prerttt good for the day, but the swing axle handling and acceleration are quaint by modern standards. Rides nicely though.
2.2 I6, FI, ~130hp, at least when new. Revs pretty freely, and needs to, as it in 4th (MBs first automatic, no torque converter) before 30 mph.
