Test drove a 2013 XC70 T6 today. It was nice. I don’t like:

The stalks, the HVAC/Stereo controls, the seats (I guess they are fine...) , the step off, um...the costs of parts

I do like:

The power...the 3.2 is fine, the 3.0T is STRONK!, the wagon, the size (just right!) the hilarious transverse I6 looks, the power delivery, the comfort and quiet.

41,500 miles, loaded but a few issues. Still $29,500 ($31300 as a CPO) seems steep. Its got more than a few cosmetic issues.

Like this long strange scratch that was either bubbled paint, or a hasty repair (I can’t see a color line) that went from front to back across both doors and exposed a little wheel well trim too.

Kinja'd!!!

I would pay $28,000 with a warrantee for it, but I get the feeling that’s not happening.

Kinja'd!!!

Also, the Swedish army was there.

Kinja'd!!!

Got my skis back after having the bindings aslpode on the hill and despite them being out of warrantee for a LONG time, they still fixed them for free. Good on you Black Diamond Equipment. Good on you!

Oh also, the salesman told me that he used to work for the Land Rover dealership on the same property and that they showed them an image of the new defender last year. I am skeptical.

You are the only person on the planet to not love a Volvo seat.

Im sure I’de get used to it. I kept looking for lumbar adjustment...it feels like it wants me to get out of it, like its pushing on my lower back. It wasn’t uncomfortable, just a little too pushy.

I have to disagree on the seats. But yeah, that price is a touch high. Wonderful cars though.

Im sure im in the minority on the seats. Like I said, it might be just “new mattress syndrome”, a thing I just made up, where there is support where there used to not be and its odd.

The Swedish Army one is very nice.

A shame you can’t find one in a reasonable distance to do a DeMuro.

If you’re familiar with paintless dent repair (PDR), the following will be mostly irrelevant:

Tough to tell from the photos (especially being white, it hides well as a color), but that may be a questionable paintless dent repair on those doors as well. When the metal is too deformed to PDR properly, but it’s done anyhow, you end up with a rippled look in the panel, as if someone has been poking it from the inside (as they essentially have been). Check edges of doors for random black rubber grommets/hole plugs, access holes get drilled when there’s not a factory access point as well.

thats my thinking too. Frankly though, they aren’t easy to find with low miles period...which makes it hard.

Hmm, you are considering one? Or something like it? What would it be replacing?

I agree with you on the price, it seems very high! a 4 year old car with 40k miles, I’d expect $20k-ish. WHy it no depreciate more?!?! Haha.

My co-worker has a V-70 it has more miles than my outback and they have only had a few issues with it (alternator and a headlight bulb). Seems like a very nice car.

Bad News: according to CarMax, they only have 16 XC70 nationwide and only one in Colorado Springs that has the T6.

And it might be non-transferable to your location.

yeah, thats my whole situation. There are NO xc70's with low miles around. Its frustrating.

Old V70 (same generation as this XC)? They’re pretty cheap in our area at least although I think the newest is 2012.

That does seem steep. Volvos have BMW like resale around here. I would think more around low $20k with a CPO. I picked up my wife’s X1 a few years ago with 28k miles for $22k and a CPO warranty. I know, totally different car, but I’d expect the wagon with more miles to be somewhere around there.
