Many of us live in the northern part of the Northern Hemisphere, meaning we live in the wonderful world of salt and snow. As such, a lot of us don’t bother cleaning our interiors until the salt and snow stop flying....not much of a point when things will be dirty again quickly!

So, my fellow Oppos, no matter where you are and your current climate situation....show us your footwells! :D

My drivers’ side footwell - the 3-pedals (#savethemanuals!) of my 2009 Hyundai Accent hatch, crappy but decently functional Canadian Tire plasti-rubber floor mats and a lot of salt and mud!

Yeah I should probably invest in some floor mats. The driver one that was in it when I got it didn’t fit properly and would bunch up places it shouldn’t

I have WeatherTech liners in my car. They’re a bit grody looking at the moment but I at least vacuum up the loose dirt and pebbles and whatnot. It’s just all the crusted up dirt and salt from when water pools up in them and then dries that looks gross.

I’ve thought about taking a wet towel or something to them to clean them out but it’s not exactly warm enough to take them out of the car and hose them off. Maybe I could maneuver them into my laundry sink. Not sure.

I had that issue with my current aftermarket one. It was actually up far enough behind the clutch pedal that I had to snip a little strip out at the end of it so the clutch could travel all the way through to its proper stop.

I often wait until the spring and put mine (the plastic ones of course) our in a strong rainstorm. Helps clean them up quite a bit after I knock all the loose dirt out first!

Do you have two sets of floor mats there? Isn’t that how all of the Priii owners ended up untintendedly accelerating to their doom?

I have the Husky Liners in my truck. Bought them because they were on sale and $50 less than the Weathertech option. Overall they have been great. They keep all of the salt and crap off of the carpet, and are easy to clean.

My truck got a thorough spring cleaning last week with the warm weather. Looks good inside still, the outside is back to disaster levels though.

Backward, of course! How it’s normally done!!!

Also, you’d think dealer protective papers, but they’re actually.....................................................Trash bags!!! I transferred my all weather mats over from the old car into the new one, but carpet was still exposed, so I McGyver’d up some extra protection!

I do have two sets of mats, actually, yes. The stock ones, though, are quite thin, so the plastirubber ones fit on top of them as if the stock ones are almost not there at all. Also, these plastic ones have very nice “nubs” on the bottom that are quite long to dig into the stock floor carpet (in my case, original floor mats) so that they don’t move an inch. The pedals clear both mats just fine with no hint of the mats ever sliding around! Mats haven’t budged other than me physically removing them from the car in the 3 years I’ve owned it.

It’s very clean. unlike the outside of the car. Mud/road grime after 2 months. And now it’s spring so the 4Runner will soon be yellow.

My throttle hangs pretty low, so flooring it is actually flooring it and not hitting some stop. The mat would get bunched up under there enough to impede its progress and the absolute last thing a 2nd-gen 4Runner needs is a throttle that can’t unleash all 150 horsepower.

Pretty amusing that it has 150hp. My Accent has 110hp and it’s a 1.6L 4-cyl......I imagine the 4Runner has many, many more torques though! :P

180, so more but still not very impressive. This is with a 3.0 liter V6. The crazy thing, I found a Car and Driver comparison from back in the day(early 90s) with the 4Runner up against other SUVs and 150 was more or less par for the course.

it will be a daily driver candidate. i am still working out how to get the planned floor to work. it is going to be the roof of another bug cut off, and flipped over, and put underneath as a belly pan. the transmission and frame and driveshaft will all be in the car with me. it is steady moving in the right direction. the inside of old reliable......

I’m not sure I want to know what the Jeep’s floorpan looks like under the carpet. I suspect “soft” would describe it well, based on what it looks like underneath. But I’m not Fred Flintstoning yet, so there’s that. There was one of those shitty tire type floor mats in it when I got it, but it never fit properly so I got rid of it.

The Lada has about 3/4" of horse-hair-looking fibreglass insulation under that rubber floor, with the factory rubber mat still there. The floor seems more solid than the Jeep’s but I can’t tell cause it takes so much more effort to get to it.

It used to. But something about having a shorter person driving (and more importantly the seat slid forward) now it keeps creeping forward until it jams up under the clutch pedal.
