They made the same claim about the Aventador SV, and yet the SV gets shit on by literally ANY other supercar in ANY comparison test.
Independent comparisons make it pretty obvious that the record-setting SV was not a stock vehicle, so I don’t believe Lambo for a second when they say a production-spec Performante can beat a 918.
Still probably a fantastic car, and way faster than you could ever want to go, but Lambo math doesn’t add up lately.

The caveat with all these runs is always going to be if the car was juiced and what the tires were.
I think we can just assume both at this point

If I remember correctly, Ferrari once had a 360 Challenge press car that was a full second faster to 60 than a customer car. More powerful tune, closer gear ratios, stickier tires, etc.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the Performante used similar trickery.

On a circuit as long as the ring, tires alone could be huge given the number of turns. It would add up pretty quickly.

For autocross I think the rule of thumb was 2-3 seconds on a 60 second course. I’d imagine for a supercar that might increase, but then again, the difference between all seasons and Hoosiers might be much greater than pilot sport 1s and Hoosiers. But on a track the length of nurburgring I bet it’s tens of seconds for slicks.
