Kinja'd!!!

I like it a lot!

It has a really nice sound, and it’s not fake, because it was even better with the windows opened.

The shifter is nicer and throws are shorter than my Optima, but the clutch is really really light. I would get used to it no problem.

And it’s quite a big car inside, it could see it being the main family car.

It’s a lot of car for the money! I would get the base model, not the sport, because less money and no cheesy bodykit.

Yep. That what the Fit is there for. And in 10 years they’ll bring a smaller car below the Fit cause the Fit will be bigger than this Civic.

How was the rear visibility? It seems that Honda didn’t care about blind spots:

I still hate the way the outside looks, but I guess some people do and it’s a nice car to drive.

Which means it’s super impressive that the base model with the 6MT only weighs about 100 lbs more than a FiST, and yet has way more interior space.

This is a car I would seriously consider.

It’s not good, like most modern cars.

Model bloat is real.

And it pisses me off.

I currently own a 2015 (last gen) Civic. I really wanted a Fit, but couldn’t find a comfortable driving position.

When I compare my current Civic to the 86 Honda Accord I had many moons ago it’s rather shocking.

86 Accord Wheelbase: 102.3. Length: 178.5

15 Civic Wheelbase: 105.1. Length: 179.4

Just for comparison, the current Accord:

Wheelbase: 109.3. Length: 191.4

This is the coolest civic they’ve made in a while IMO. Even Matt Farah said it was fun. And I have to admit... I kinda like the outrageous styling in the rear

It’s even a lot cheaper than the FiST (here at least). The Civic is maybe 90% of the fun for a lot less, and it’s just more car. No question for me.

I would. Now I need to drive the Elantra Sport, sedan and hatch

I really really wish Honda would make a Fit Si, or at least make the new Civic Si in hatchback. I like my FiST but the interior space is pretty much non-existent.

Can’t blame Honda though. Blame buyers who want bigger cars.

I fell in love with the FiST when I drove one, but the love got away really fast when I tried to fit a baby seat in the rear!

Not just that. It’s they want bigger cars, but don’t want to pay more for them. So car companies have to build bigger small cars, instead of these people just buying a bigger car to begin with.

Yeah, we have a 2 year old and a 2-month old. Rear-facing is an absolute no-go, and fortunately my wife is short because the carrier carseat requires the front seat to be moved up quite a bit.

This is why the FiST is my DD, and we have a CR-V for our family hauler, although even that is starting to feel a little small with the newly acquired double stroller.

I have an Accord coupe which is the same 190" length. Many people would be surprised how spacious it is inside, especially in the back seat and trunk.

Yup.

In a way I get it. If someone is an Accord buyer, for instance, they want to feel as though their new Accord is bigger/better than the one it replaced.

But to me (and I imagine most of the people here), I know that a Civic should be a certain size. As should be an Accord. If I wanted something bigger than that Accord I have to buy something else with more room, not expect the car to conform to what I want.

And you know what I think might be the weirdest thing of all about all of this model bloat? I don’t necessarily think they’ve gained much in terms of usable interior space. I feel much more cramped in my larger Civic than I did in an Accord I had 30 years ago (even though the Civic is bigger).

Even as being someone with prominent fake fender vents, the bumpers on this thing really piss me off.

They don’t care about blind spots cause they stick a camera on the mirror that makes them go away
