I just finished a 12+ hour shift and I now have to put a radiator in my Jeep. Post whatever you feel like to appease me(except Zoidberg, we don’t need none of them Tercels).

It’s way cleaner than any of the ones I’ve seen. It’s also set up a bit differently too.

alot of that is the paint. my friend is a bit OCD when it comes to how the OUTSIDE looks. i am more OCD about the guts and getting them clean. its out of a 99 cherokee. cramming them back in is the fun part......

Mine is a 2000. If the engine ever has to completely come out it will go back in as a stroker with a coat of AMC blue/gen engine paint. That stuff is beautiful.

that is some IMPRESSIVELY pretty paint.......

Kinja'd!!!

what surprised me, was the limited aftermarket for the inline stuff when we put my friends’ together......

Yeah, many people either do strikers or leave them stock. I have found a company that makes an intake to bolt an M80 or M65 supercharger on them.

a supercharger would give one a REAL nice bump. the stroker seemed underwhelming for the work involved. but you should be able to get a good bit more power......

The radiator isn’t a bad job. When I did mine in the MJ a few years ago, it went so smoothly (literally the only thing that “went wrong” was that the studs on the new rad had been powder coated and I had to run a die over the threads to clean them up) that I spent the next year or so wondering what I’d screwed up super badly that would lead to catastrophic failure because that was waaaaay too easy.

I may be leaving out a couple steps, but it’s like, drain rad, remove fan shroud and aux fan (four bolts, maybe only three), remove headlight bezels (six screws), unbolt header panel (four nuts and four bolts, unplug headlight harness) remove upper rad support (four bolts, two nuts), and then undo the rad hoses and lift the rad out. Seriously, I think the job took less than an hour.

Tell me more! I have yet to see a supercharger that isn’t a super custom build that doesn’t eliminate the a/c (or require serious mods to retain it) or that doesn’t end up poking through the hood on an XJ/MJ application.

I have aspirations that one day the rod knocking (hey, it’s got 310,000 miles on it and the PO was neglectful and I drove it HARD... 115 mph hard) 4.0 I have sitting in the shop will one day be stroked and mildly supercharged. Shouldn’t be too hard to get 400 hp (and like, 500 lb-ft) without any crazy internal mods beyond forged stroker guts.

I think one of the reasons there’s such a poor aftermarket is that straight six parts are so big (Edelbrock said the only reason they didn’t come out with a 4.0 head sooner was because they physically couldn’t cast it in their facilities until a few years ago) and that the stroker crank and rods everyone’s using are just from a 258 and they’re everywhere and dirt cheap so no need for aftermarket there. I think Scat is the only one turning out new stroker cranks, and I’m pretty confident they’re really just turning out 258 cranks because they already did that.

I had no problem with doing it I just didn’t want to do it after a 12 hour shift when I was dead tired. I would’ve finished it except I stop for a second and I fell asleep.

I would have to find it again but it requires that you relocate the power steering pump I believe. It’s not super complicated but enough so that you spend a whole weekend doing it.
